tfp/cd issues??

so it's been awhile since i shot with a certain photographer, and i haven't heard from them since, i've sent emails and messages, but gotten nothing but a couple raw images back. there were several taken, and many great ones, however i have yet to receive them... has anyone else had this problem? i really don't know what else to do!

it was trade. there wasn't a detailed agreement and i wasn't asked to sign anything. i've been told by other people (muah's and models) that have worked with this photographer that other models have had the same problem before.

Story of my life hun...... it has happend to me soooo many times. It sucks. If you continue to ask him and he never delivers the phtoos as promised, all you can really do is put him on blast as a shady photog. Check out my list at www.modelmayhem.com/cryssr.

I'm so glad you are backing us up on this! Something really needs to be done about it...... I know you talked about starting a list or something for shady photogs, models, hair, and mua's in another forum. Did you ever start one? If not, I'd be glad to help you out with that.... Let me know. :)

that actually happened to my parents... they never had any good photos, just the ones friends and family took! it was horrible!

I agree with the Blast thing, Angies' list or any other way to dis-credit them. I have shot several weddings. Imagine if I took off with the fotos. They would surely come after ME. I can't imagine why they would snub you like that!

I know of another PL member who has been waiting for MONTHS for photos from a certain photographer... dates were spelled out in the contract, AND she paid in full. She needs to blast, too!

ALWAYS GET SOMETHING SIGNED!!!!!!!!!
even if it is a silly photocopied contract from a previous photoshoot you have done... BRING YOUR OWN CONTRACT.... regardless of the shoot, and what is going on... ALWAYS SLAP your OWN contract in front of the photographer!!! they might run and grab one from there contract file too....
but you dont know what someone else is thinking... they might not think you would know what or when to use a contract, so they dont think they need one...

but by YOU bringing your own contract, you:
1.) Look/Act like a model PRO
2.) Look/Act like you dont wanna get SCREWED OVER!
3.) YOU COVER YOUR OWN ASS!

it's ALL about the contract!

you are definitely right, sue... i've been thinking about bringing one, i just haven't. i definitely will from now on.

unfortunately, that doesn't help my current problem!

Doesnt matter wether you paid him or not at the end of the day the copyright is his.Always get something like this in writing before you shoot,to protect yourself against problems like this,at the end of the day you have no idea what pictures he will put up online,wether you like them or not or agree with his choices,I have had the same problem a long time ago,myself and the photographer had a lot agreed in person but not much in the way of writing,and he screwed me over knowing this.

Personally i would contect him one last time explaining that you had a verbal agreement that you would
shoot together in exchange for photos and he has not help of his end of the bargain, if he replies or does not reply, move on put it down to experience and learn from the mistake of not getting it all written down.


You said "it was trade" and this upsets me time and time again when i read letters like these,
surely if its trade,you protect yourself? this man was a stranger who promised you somethign in return of your modeling ,do NOT take his word on what he says,because at the end of the day,hes a stranger to you.
