Psycho Designer Models BEWARE!!!!

So here is the situation.

I had a designer contact me on myspace and told me he wanted me to model some of his clothes for a shoot. He wanted to contact me to discuss this. I checked out his page and the clothes were ok. Defenitely interesting, but not bad and not really my style. told him I was going on vacation (VIVA) and I would talk to him when I get back. He insisted that we talk before I go. I agreed and we spoke. He aplogised for being so assertive because he was worried I was going to flake on him. I totally understand cuz I hate to be flaked on, but it happens......
So, he wanted to pay me for a days shoot and was willing to fly me to Toronto. I said it sounded cool, but I had to get a passport and find someone to come with me (I'm not about to go do this alone....i only knew so much about him and it was a big trip.) We agreed to touch base when I got back.
Well while I was in VIVA he sent me text messages asking about the trip and if I could look and his site for new designs up. I sent a text saying I was still on vacation and didn't have axcess to a computer and would look at it when I got back and would talk to him them. (I mean come on I AM ON VACATION...) Well I got sick on the trip and lost my voice. I sent him a text when I got back and said I was home, but I could not talk (It was true I seriously couldn't talk for two days!) I told him I would let him know when I had a voice again.

Now I work about 50 hours a week if not more. If you really want to talk to me and have my undivided attention, talk to me on a weekend!!! (This was all said when we talked before VIVA. I don't BS people)

So everyday he kept texting me, 'Can we talk today' I told him no, I would let him know in a day or so. Well tonight I had to go to my BF's mom's B-day dinner. He text me again asking if we could talk and I said Friday (the weekend) cuz I have this birthday thing. I had a meeting at work and he texted me atleast 3 times while I was in that meeting and called me once. The last text said that I was trying his patience or something. I called him and he didn't pick up so I left him a message. I said I am passing on the idea, because I didn't have time for this. I mean there is a difference between being assertive and being pushy and creepy. So he text me back calling me a flake and told me I was in his flake book and that I was a b**** and to piss off. What a psycho!

This isn't life or death people!!!

I understand wanting to get things squared a way but there is a right way and a wrong way.

You can ask any photographer I have worked with I AM NO FLAKE!!!!

So, was I wrong? He really creeped me out! If any of you get approached by 'Now..That's Hoochie & Couture Bchez!' on myspace or K.E Matt-Thompson BEWARE!!!

Oh yeah, this is my first a****** canadian.....I didn't think they existed?? Canadians are always so sweet. :(

That same guy contacted me probably about a month ago or so! He sent me a message first though my website. I am quite distrusting, so I was careful with him. But I found it strange that he kept pushing for my contact info. Here is how our email correspondence went:

So...I just stopped communicating with him. He made me uncomfortable with how hard he was pushing for my contact info beyond my email address. I was confused by why he would not just send me a link to his myspace page and make me search for it. Plus why would he delete me from his myspace friends and have his page private??? All warning signs to me...so I just stopped it there and did not respond to him. I have not heard from him since. I would warn everyone to stay away!

Wow! Yeah, I'm a little too trusting and nice, but as soon as he started pushing I got pissed off!! He deleted me from his myspace as soon as I told him wasn't going to do it! He doesn't want anyone to know!!!

i'm sweet!!! i'm canadian... must be that east coast crap! (JUST KiDDiNG... i HEART "MOST" CANADiAN's, BUT ALL CANADiAN PiNUPS)

as to your story..... SO SORRY to hear that... i had an experience with a designer that was psycho!!! not in an "a'billy" sorta way...
she said that she send a package in OCTOBER... and i got NOTHING, and she messaged me LiKE CRAZY, saying that i SHOULD have gotten it, and i didnt... she kept asking and calling me a lieing b**** in her messages... (SO HARSH) i couldnt believe it!! MYSPACE MADE ME CRY!!! these were myspace messages...
thats the first/last time i cryed cause of an online message!
i never did get the package... she said that she will set out a bad name for me in the pinup community.... i blocked the company, and will never talk to them again...

ANOTHER situation:
i got a package from a DiY hair bow company... and the product was so crappy.... hot glue gun streams of glue dangleing off the product... i didnt want to stand behind a company that made there stock SO BADLY.... i sent a note regarding a suggestion of "quality controll" for the business....

hold out for the company's that are WORTH the trade/pay!

a little off topic... .and i didnt mean what i said about east coast canadians, just your crappy Viva/Text hater!!!

I don't want to offend anyone with what I have to say regarding new companies, etc...

I find, people that are new to the "pin-up" or "rockabilly" life-style should not be trusted until they prove themselves over time. If it is a company started by someone who has been in the "scene" for years, you know that this is a lifestyle choice and not just a bandwagon thing for them. As for people that are trying to make money off of pin-up or rockabilly, with no vested personal interest in it (IE: their social life, love of the music, associates in car clubs, etc.) really can not be trusted.

Someone who supports the music side of the scene, and truly loves this lifestyle is
1. not a creep
2. would respect personal boundries
3. wants to put out a good product
4. will not act in ways that jeopardize their personal reputations.

This is a subculture lifestyle has unfortunately attracted a lot of flakes. Trust comes over time and with a good product. A lot of people who are in this lifestyle start a business to bring their lifestyle and business life together and enjoy their work. THOSE are the businesses real pin up models should work with. Not someone who is trying to blend "pin up and club couture." Just the fact he describes his company as trying to blend those two opposing styles together should have turned you off to him.

Another reason pin ups should be more involved in the rockabilly scene and support the music. To learn who is who and what companies are established and have good reputations.

I am so sorry you had a creepy Canadian experience! We might all come across as nice because we apologize if you step on our feet, but having dated in this country for more than half my life I can vouch that there are definitely some creeps up here!

I guess we're just better at hiding it? Parkas hide a multitude of sins...
