So I was doing hair for a fashion show last night. I mostly do pin up hair but stepped out of my boundaries to do a fetish / latex fashion show. On a couple of girls they liked there hair styles just wanted them cleaned up. On one girl they mentioned adding in pieces but I didnt bring hair along and the other guy didnt have a color to match her. I teased up the top of her fried breaking off platinum hair and sent her off in case the other hair stylist wanted to something to the back since her hair was short. The designer gave her the ok but she continued to complain . Did she know she was making me look bad???
This is what they wanted that is what she gets. Well I guess after complaining a couple times the other guy pulled her hair down and redid it.
If there is one thing I can not stand it is models that think it is all about them. If I was happy with the style and the designer was happy with the style why does she think she has the right to piss and moan to get something else?

We as hair stylist , makeup artist, photographers, and clothing designer play just as big of role as the models.
I just want everyone to think before they go running there mouths who it is effecting.
This is the first run in with a model I have ever had and Im just a little jaded. I have LOVED all the models I have worked with thus far. They are usually so down to earth and not drama queens.

Anyways sorry for the rant I just had to get this off my chest. All the other models turned out amazing!

There are so many beautiful models and amazing pictures out there, it would be silly not to be humbled by the incredible work that stylists and artists create to get a shoot done right. I'm with you on this one!
models can be picky and LAME sometimes... mostly models that DONT think about references... i know i wouldnt personally want to work with a "pain in the ass" model again!
Man, I love having my hair and makeup done FOR me!
I've had the occasional style that, in retrospect (ie, AFTER seeing photos) may not have been the best for the situation, but that becomes information I can file away and ask the next stylist to avoid, and explain why... before he or she goes to work on me!
Unless the shoot is specifically for the models portfolio and they've putthe effort in to concept etc .. they are there to be a blank canvass and a clothes hanger,
thats the top and bottom of it.

xx
I agree with Miss Mia More. But I would take it one step further and implore all of you to remember that the stylist has been hired/recruited by the designer, and therefore answers ONLY to them. All other opinions are inconsequential as long as the party in charge is content.

Can you tell I've styled for some divas in the past? But ultimately the majority of the models I've encountered are both lovely, and professional enough to excercise good ettiquette at an event. Don't let it stop you!!!
