I love vintage and vintage-style hats, but find that they don't usually "work" with my hairstyle. Still, I can't seem to stop buying them. Do you collect hats? Do you wear them?

Below: A collage of hats, some of my own and some from the V&A shop.

I used to wear vintage hats in the 80s. I would wear them kind of forward on my head and have a low ponytail, and go to underground dance clubs. I was oh, so chic hehe...Funny, I never wore them with vintage dresses, only with modern clothes.
Yes, Ma'm they are cool stuff to collect ....
Say what you want about the fashion atrocities committed in the 80's, it was a decade where pretty much anything went. You must have some great photos!

Something subtle for spring:

I love to wear my hats when I go out to a show or around town boozin' with friends. But I need to keep better care of them. Any tips on hat care?

It may sound a bit 'girly', but for hats like bowlers or fedoras, it would be best to store them in a hat box [or any box with enough room really] to keep them dust free and in shape.

In general, avoid getting hair products on them or wearing them out in the rain. And keep them off the bed. ;)
I keep a hat ontop of each Mac in my house, but im a geek like that so....

If you mean the dark purpleishy one on the white background, it was at http://www.vandashop.com but I don't see it there any longer. Perhaps they sold out.

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking of investing in a storage box like this.
I need to buy many more wig forms. And then mount a shelf about 2ft from the ceiling, running the perimeter of the room, and fill it with bewigged and behatted heads! :)
