MODELS: Seriously stop wasting photographers precious time.

I've gotten a few private reviews of flakey models here on the site lately, wtf is up with that, how do you feel knowing youve gotten someone interested in working with you, which is something YOU put effort into. Only then to not show up or cancel because your starbucks coffee wasnt built correctly.

I'm going to make a photographer forum for blacklisting flakes. ANY cancellation that is valid is easily worked out, either with a reschedule or a conversation explaining what happened which is enough to keep ya off this list. Its the lamers who don't show up that really shouldn't be on a networking site. Look out soon for this list and think twice before not showing up to a scheduled shot next time.

"I forgot" is not valid, there are plenty of free online calendaring solutions, USE EM.

* Just an update to clarify my train of thought....the intended purpose of this list will not be to start drama for people who didnt work well together, or people who rescheduled. It will be a "No Show, No Call" list. If someone fails to do both of those you're just an turdmuffin and deserve to be on a list for all to see.

If the photographer/model don't have each others FULL contact information thats your own damn fault.

hey, this can apply to flakey photographers.. there's nothing worse than getting a call the day you are meant to shoot from a photog who is too hungover or forgot about your appointment.

Being that I have a serious problem with people who flake out in general... I really like this idea. If there is one thing I am, it's reliable! (ok, I might be a few other things...) It's a matter of respect and I think others deserve that respect too.

I totally agree with you, from a business owners point of view, wasted time is lost money! I have to organize photographers and models, and unfortunately it doesn't matter what side you're on, there are always flakes. This is a serious business, regardless of how much fun it is, so models... please take it as seriously as everyone else does!!!

My rule is to treat models in the same way I wish to be treated. Time is valuable so any model who does flake on me loses the opportunity to work with me again. Having said that I've found good prior bilateral communication a helpful guide to posible issues. So far only had one flake in over a year (who then contacted some months later to ask if I'd like to reschedule a shoot with her - hmmm!).

I think this is a GREAT idea! As a hair stylist, there is nothing worse than spending money on product, preparing for your shoot, spending money on gas to drive to wherever the shoot it located, and showing up to a tfp shoot only to be notified by the photog that the model just cancelled. On the other hand, I'v also had MUA's not show up either. As a model though, I've done plenty of shoots where the photog never kept up his end of the deal for tfp..... in other words, I never got my photos. It really stinks when professionals don't act very professional. I hope you include lists for ALL unprofessional and shady artists in this industry. Thanx! :)
