At least two or three times a day, people come up to me on the street and admire my look. They ask me where I get my seam stockings (I should keep some with me and sell them!) Some people ask me if I am on my way to a dance or what the deal is. Yeah, someone at the airport asked me if I was on my way to a swing dance. That was funny!

Do people stop you to talk?

yep, I have been stoped on the street. not 2-3 times a day, mostly because im in scrubs or workout clothes. but those rare days i get to be cute, yep, they sure do.

it's funny when i'm with the BF's parents out for dinner, and the servers ask if i'm in a rock band.... there are no rock bands as cool as me in the area, or i'd be in em!!!
or is people ask if i know what year it is..
"you look like your from the war times"
" you look retro:"
" i like your style"
"are you a hair dresser?" (thats why i am a hair dresser!!!)

i cant just BE me, in my home town... so i'm glad the PL, let's ME be ME!!!!

Yep...I get a lot of comparisons to Bettie Page, and I don't even have bangs! I also have been told I remind them of Dita, and I can only imagine it is because they only have a vague idea of what Dita looks like!
If you're sick of the comments from random people on the street come to Toronto! NOBODY ever says anything to you in Toronto no matter how much you dress up or how outragous you dress. It's is MIND NUMBINGLY BORING of course...but that's the trade off.
Sometimes I even say something like "Toronto sucks" really loud waiting for a response but I never get it. I'm sure I'd be punched out in other places for saying something like that. Not in bland old Torawna (that's how a local pronounces it).

Oh just wanna add...I hope no one sees me as evil because of that. I just get bored easily and have a very dark sense of humour ok? Ok. : P
i get stopped quite frequently by people mistaking me for either amy winehouse or a suicide girl.

once a customer at my job even told me "you look like amy winehouse except for you don't have a big jew nose". i couldn't believe my ears except for she didn't rephrase it when i asked her to repeat herself.
big hair + tattoos i guess?

it's usually gaggles of teenage boys at the mall going, "oh sheeeeiit, das a suicide girl in that sto right there, yo!"

any time an elderly man is nice to me, my co-workers joke that it's because I "remind them of the war days"
Nobody has ever stopped me or said anything on the street, but the elevators and restaurants at Viva come complete with a steady stream of questions and compliments from other hotel guests!
No I just get stared at like i have too heads. When I am in London people just stop and take pictures, they don't even ask hahah
I don't get stopped, I get honked at or people do ye' ol' wolf whistle... Yesterday actually, as soon as I stepped out of my door (I live accross the street from a parking lot) some guy leaving the lot stopped me and asked me to "Go for a ride."
Yeah, sure buddy, you're not sleazy at all in your beat up bondo covered Honda Civic...
Yeah, that's been known to happen. I get a lot of "Are you in a show?" or "Are you in the band?"

I wore seamed stockings to my office Christmas party and a gaggle of ladies were just blown away, pointing and staring and giggling. It was a little bizarre.

And when I'm wearing a hairflower I hear a lot of "Look! She's just like Niecy Nash!".... Ugh.

But, my favorite experience ever happened one day when I was walking my dog in the park. A man stopped his car, parked, got out and came over to talk to me just because he like my outfit. Then he got back in his car and drove off to work. Surreal! He was a nice boost for my ego, he was! ;)

But, honestly, I think we have to expect people to ask us questions and make comments. Our style isn't exactly mainstream, so questions just come with the territory. And, when they ask questions and make comments it's our opportunity to be gracious ambassadors for our pin-up community. :)
