Room Re-Design Wonderland style

Well I've been thinking about revamping my room for some time now. Its drab and very blah looking, white walls and purple doors. I was thinking of decorating it with things from my favorite books Alice in wonderland/Through the looking glass. I'm just not sure where to start or what to put in my room. I know I want both the chess and card games featured bt also the more cute things like the tea party and the talking flowers....Any body got some good ideas of what I could do?

i think the Alice in wonderland thing is a good idea get posters and stuff and paint the walls doors and trimmings to go with the pictures.

Go to thrift stores and buy tea cups and a pot, then paint them all different and set it up on a table. Use playing cards to border a door or window. Use wallpaper to make the top of your desk look like a chess board, then glue chess pieces to office stuff like tape and staplers. "Hide" a white rabbit somewhere in your room. Use hearts in a section, like a corner, or maybe on your vanity. You could get really creative and glue doll house furniture to the to molding of the ceiling so it looks like you fell down the rabbit h***! This is such a fun idea, I love doing wonderland stuff.

Seeing as you're studying pastry, why not try to incorporate an "Eat Me" theme? Maybe display photos of your best creations, recipes, or set up a mini library of appropriate books? I'm very into the idea of playing with the disproportionate elements of the story; mixing unexpectedly small and large items. Of course, you have to have a beautiful mirror! If you can't find an ornate frame, create one yourself by gluing random crap on a plain frame and spray painting it gold. This is another way you could incorporate the chess pieces, hearts etc.

I really like Roxy's idea of sourcing old teacups etc. Maybe display them on high shelves (I'm thinking IKEA LACK or their narrower ones) e.g. over the window. And hiding a white rabbit is sheer brilliance!

You might be able to find a big rug that looks like a chess board. If you want you could make like a fake rose bush and paint the roses red haha, glue a paint brush with red paint on it to the pot. And I've seen tea cup shaped plant pots on ebay and walmart had some last summer.

I sadly can't paint the walls so my room has white walls with dark purple doors and borders...so yeah just decoration ideas
