OK I finally got my tickets and this will be my 1st time attending so if I could a few answers that would be great!
Are there any hotels close to the Orleans? It's sold out and when I map it I only get the major hotels nearby, same when I use yahoo travel. We won't have a car so a decent nearby hotel is greatly needed!

Are they any photographers doing shoots during that week that anyone knows of?

Is there some sort of "formal" type dance where we get to dress up? I thought I read it once but don't see it listed on the site.

Does anyone know if the Orleans will let us bring our own beverages and booze to the car show? I don't expect to be able to bring it inside!

Are any other events going on that week that coincides with VLV? I want to explore more than one spot my whole time there!

I know I had a ton more questions ugh I can't think of them now but thanks!

How cool...have fun!! There are some photogs doing shoots there, but you have to find them. I will look up some that I think are shooting and I will let you know.

Pretty much everyone dresses up anyhoo..so finding a dance to dress up shouldnt be hard.

Last year, my boyfriend and I bought our own 24packs of beer and just carried them around. Another idea I had seen was a guy was pulling around a Red Flyer wagon with 2 ice chests full of beer...so I suppose you can take your own. I dont recall seeing anyone get in trouble for that. And that was at the car show and inside the casinos.

Theres alot going on...just kinda gotta find out whats what.

Hope I helped at least a little. I was going based on my own experiences there.

To Answer the first question:

I heard from Nikki that she got a room at the Emerald Suites accross the street from the Orleans. Also, there is a shuttle from the Gold Coast to the Orleans.

Second Question: There are always photographers doing shoots. You can probably find one on here.

Third Question: There is no "Formal Dance" but many girls, myself included bring several "Costume changes" per day we are there. In the evening it is always formal (vintage, quality reproductions, etc.)

Fourth question: Yes, you can walk around with your own booze pretty much everywhere in the hotel and at the car show.

Fifth question: I hate to leave the hotel when I am at Viva, so you might want to re-think if there is something else to do because you may be having too much fun at Viva itself.

I def want to do pics with cool settings, I already have pics with cars.
It looks like the Emerald is a good choice, not that $$$
This is our last hooray before we start trying for a baby so I thinking I'll need to have a drink in my hand the whole 4 days haha
