I tend to like to stick to basics, plus I can't afford to use the expensive beauty treatments, nor to I feel they are necissary. For as long as I can remember my beuty regimine is this:
Oil of Olay face wash in the morning, St Ives Apricot Scrub at night (really helps to get the make up out of your pores) and they follow up by noxema pads to get the rest of the make up out and to prevent blemishes. I also Use Oil of Olay 7 effects for my facial lotion and apply before my make up goes on. Thats about it...what about you?

Yeah, eating healthy is definitely a good step to take. I notice a BIG difference in my skin during the winter months when my diet tends to slip a little more than I like.. I drink soda more often, and tend to eat out at places .. and not to mention holiday eating.. rather than keeping to all my healthy foods. :/

But, eating healthy isn't all. It certainly helps, but you also have to use good skin care products that *your* skin likes. Everyone's different, so it's okay to kinda experiment to find the perfect remedy for your skin.

Me, I've always been allergic to Oil of Olay. Even just the scent of it makes my eyes burn. After lots of trials and MANY errors, I finally started using Nature's Care exfoliator. I follow up with Dermalogica's Anti-Bac cleanser, MAC's fast response eye serum, and for any blemishes I use Dermalogica's Overnight Clearing Gel. Honestly, if I could afford Dermalogica's entire skin care system, I would totally invest. It's awesome, all-natural products and makes your skin feel so wonderful :)

I certainly want to try Dulce Diabla's tricks though!
WELL I TRIED OOO BUT I GUESS ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE, I USE NOXZEMA OR NEUTRAGENA CREAM CLEANSER, AND FOLLOW WITH A TONER CALLED DELON, THAT I GET FROM ALOCAL ASIAN OWNED BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE. ITS LIKE MIRACLE WATER I SWEAR! AND ONCE A WEEK I USE A WALMART BRAND APRICOT SCRUB, BUT MARYKAY MICRODERABRASION SCRUB WORKS EXCELLENT TO GET RID OF DRY SKIN AND YUCK ON YOUR FACE! THEN I FINISH OFF WITH EITHER MARYKAY NON OILY GEL MOISTURIZER OR A GENERIC SKIN MOISTURIZER FROM LIKE A DOLLAR STORE IT WORKS GREAT!
Oh Yeah, i almost forgot...I also love marykay eye make up remover...i love that it is non greasy and keeps the make up from building up in your eye creases (For those of us that have *minor* wrinkles!)

Asked my mother.

She is 70 and still has flawless skin.

Here's what she said, "Don't ever go out into the sun uncovered and use steam to clean you face."

And I think genetics has alot to do with it.
I have ridiculously sensitive skin and OoO kills it completely. I have recently found and fallen in love with the Soap and Glory range in Boots over here in the UK. I love the retro packaging and the products are amazing. They have a face mask called scrub your nose in it and it completely unclogs and tightens pores. Their moisturiser and body butter are gorgeous too and smell fabulous!
I don't think you're crazy at all - I have made skincare and cosmetics out of food, and they have worked fine to varying degrees. I used to make a cleanser out of ground oatmeal, lavender and milk; I now use one very similar with ground almonds, and it's great. Once a week or so I use a sea salt scrub to exfoliate that contains citrus and avocado. i am totally convinced that avocados are great both inside and out - I try to eat a bit of one every day, and my skin and hair have improved immensely. I use Lush products on my face exclusively right now, but have seen some great stuff from Aveda too. You can also use Milk of Magnesia for a mask, and it works great. I also love anything with olive oil and papaya/mangoes/pineapple for their AHAs.

I go for more natural stuff-

I know you are all gonna look at me funny after this but its worked-
6 years no blemishes and goin strong.

Healthy diet - No beef, controlled portions and balance of sweets
a mix of weight training -boxing -jogging and yoga.
(sometimes I hop in the sauna or take Ice cold showers)

I mix 2 squeezed oranges, half cup sugar and baking soda(arm&hammer)-makes a thick paste.
I use that 2 to 3 days in the week to exfoliate or remove heavy make up.

I put oatmeal in an old stocking and soak in a hot bath (after a fast shower)
oatmeal moisturizes and removes excess oils from skin and leaves you silky smooth.

Sounds crazy huh lol, not yet-

On some occasions I use milk in my bath (sounds like a breakfast huh)
still its natural and works for me (either way cheep and super relaxing)
I've tried many things - expensive, home made, abrasive, you name it. I've been using Aveeno Positively Radiant cleanser followed by Oil of Olay (unscented 15 spf) morning and night for over a year now. Easy and inexpensive and I haven't had breakouts or dry skin problems since.
