Getting in the mood

I love listening to music when I do almost everything, but it seems the most enjoyable when I'm getting ready to go out. I love putting on my favorite music and singing and dancing while picking an outfit, putting on make-up, and fixing my hair. It seems to relax me and makes me get in the mood to get going. I know a lot of models also bring a favorite cd to listen to at a photo shoot to relax them and get them up and moving. And also love going to shows and seeing live bands. What music gets you up and going? Have you seen any good bands lately?

I have to say that at the moment i'm really into Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, and the Ramones. And who can leave out Johnny Cash! The last live band I saw was the Tremors at the NC tattoo cconvention this past september. They were really rockin!

Oh I totally know what you mean. Most of the time it feels like my life revolves around music. I can't just listen to one specific type of music though. I listen to literally everything. Right now I can't get enough of Bob Marley.

thats great! i love to listen to music when im getting all dolled up. i have a play list called pretty music, full of glen miller orchestra, andrews sisters, puppini sisters, artie shaw, stray cats, horror pops, christina aguleras new stuff, and more.

I'm working on a playlist right now for the same reason. So far I have the Cramps, Ramones, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Elvis, the White Stripes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and a few others. I'm not quite done yet!

Music is my inspiration, my Gramps is a musician, so I grew up listening to the greats. I am a sucker for Wanda Jackson, Elvis, Glen Glenn, Eddie Cochrane, Richie Valens, Johnny Cash....I could go on and on. I also love the classic punk rock...The Misfits and The Dead Kennedys. Tiger Army and the Nekromantix are also 2 of my favorite bands. I could write about this topic all day...I love music.

We just saw Mike Ness live not too long ago - and Jesse Dayton opened up for him. If you love honky tonk....go check out his stuff. It was a rad show!

i have different cds for when i'm getting ready... for everything really. i have a mixtape for everything.
when i'm going out for a wild night of whiskey and ripped jeans i flip on the dead kennedys, joan jett (especially bad reputation), the misfits, , dropkick murpheys, rage against the machine.
for a fun, carefree summer day i like big d and the kids table, the specials, bob marley and no doubt.
when i'm getting ready for job interviews i always seem to end up listening to cat power - especially jukebox.

Thats so funny! I just did that last night! I just put my itunes on shuffle so I heard Guns n Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Little Richard, Jesus Christ Superstar, STP. So random but definitely great to get pumped up for the night.

I just saw a great local Rockabilly band called Brokedown Playboys. I first saw them when I won a pinup pageant at the Erotic Arts Festival here in Baltimore. They always play "Little Red Riding Hood" for me since then. Great music, great people.

The idea of a playlist is very good. I'll work on that ;)

Some great "girly" music is Sarah Vaughn, especially "Whatever Lola Wants". Definitely gets you into the primping and prepping mood of being a woman.

playlists on the ipod are the best! I have separate lists of psychobilly, rockabilly, favorites, favorite rockabilly, and when I have to DJ shows, I will create show specific playlists. I need to create a getting ready playlist!
