Just wondering if anyone else watches show like L.A Ink and Miami Ink. AS an artist I like watching these shows just to see the great artwork that's produced. And it's good to watch during lunch break at my boring job. So what do you think of them?

I like them and am thinking about signing up for LA ink this summer.
I like to watch them and hear the stories about the art, though that is really all I tune in for - the tattoos and the art - not the drama...that, I could do without.

And besides..Corey Miller and Hannah kicks some serious tattoo ass.
I started out liking Miami Ink...then it was growing boring and then the drama with Kat happened. So I tuned in for LA Ink. The first few episodes were ok, getting to know the characters and the shop etc Good stuff. But then after the introductions, the drama swelled back into the show and I haven't watched since. Think the last time I saw it was early 08 or something. And yes believe it or not, there are other ways to get viewers without having someone cry or ruin something every episode. And no I'm not a tattoo artist...if I were, maybe I would care a little more...but I doubt it. Drama is drama :) It got to a point where every episode it seemed as if the world might end for Kat or one of her attention whore pals (and there are many). If I wanted to be bummed...I'd watch CNN.

So people of PL...please don't gang up on me and have me banished because I'm not in love with Kat Von D :) She has been and still is commodity for the moment. That'll eventually go away. That's how television works. I don't mind it though...I make my living from television :)
I agree

I am not a fan of Kat Von D either, so you won't get banished from me!

Yeah Kat Von D has definitely become a commodity..I kinda admire her though because she's from a similar background as me (she's from Argentina and I'm from Chile). To be honest if I had a chance to make a living that way I would take it. I think most people would even though they say differently.Who wouldn't sell out if given a chance? It's VERY rare to find someone who truly wouldn't do it.
I love LA Ink. Seeing all the amazing art makes the show worth it, and Kat always makes me smile. I think she's adorable and looks like she's always having a good time. One day, I'll get Hannah to a piece for me.... one day *sigh*.
Ok so I'm not completely alone! I hope people don't get pissed at what I wrote before it's just my opinion.
I've found a mild addiction to LA Ink.. nothing I can't handle, after all I can stop whenever I want. Kat seems like a chick I would want to hang out with, and the crew she has working there at High Voltage (I believe that's what her shop is called) are phenomenal. I love Kat's portrait work, and Hannah does some of the best pin-up tattoos I've seen.
I started with Miami Ink & then went back & forth when LA Ink came on. I love watching both & hearing the stories. I'm in love with Hannah's work on LA ink. She is amazing. I'm hoping to get something from her someday...hopefully my pin-up mermaid b/c she is awesome at pin-ups.
I very rarely ever watch L.A Ink, but I enjoy watching Kat Von D. She seems like a cool chick...and she looks like a piece of candy!
Yeah anyone who can draw like that on skin with a tattoo gun is incredibly talented. I definitely want to some ink from Hannah, Corey or Kat...hope I can some day. I really want a pin up girl! In the traditional style of course.
And yeah Kat is a piece of candy. : ) Yummy! Oh I hope that doesn't sound too weird.. : P
