This was brought to my attention in a convo earlier and now
I'm just curious
What is our obsession with cherries? Has anyone ever noticed it looks a bit familiar?? Call me crazy but it looks like two nutz?
Do two cherry's have any meaning?
Do cherry's signify your virginity?

What do you like about about Cherry's? The fruit, clothing? anything Cherry

I am glad I am not the only one that is a subculture research junkie.

In the 50's cool cats (greasers, teddy boys etc.) would refer to their girlfriends as "cherries", so I'm assuming the current cherries-everywhere look has grown out of the 50's revival (esp. rockabilly). As for the meaning, I'm sure there are many, both innocent and not so much ;)
I got yer fresh, hot nerd right here! Sub-cultures? Yes, please. Research? Oh, baby, now I'm hot!
And I'm pleased I'm not alone :) As I posted I was thinking, "I hope I don't sound like Sheldon from 'Big Bang'"!

Yay! So I'm not the only one who researches old subcultures! I've studied the old punk and skinhead subcultures and a bit about British psychobilly..I need to read up on rockabilly. Yay! Geeks! : P
Everytime I say anything like that I come across as a stuck up know it all. So I keep my mouth shut... sometimes.

Good topic. I hate the taste of cherries but I like the way the look on clothes and accessories ;o)
Now we are talkin'!~ Lets all nerd out.
I think it is very important to know at least some of the background/history of whatever subculture your in.....
Knowledge gives substance....rather than subcultures fading away and turning into a fashion trend.

Well I gotta say is I'm NOT ashamed of knowing my s***.Yeah if you're gonna call yourself a "greaser" or "punk" or whatever you better have some clue of what that means and the history behind it. Maybe that's "snobby" whatever..if you don't have that it is just trend following. That's my "humble" opinion. There's nothing wrong with knowing history in general. Yup, I'm a geek and proud!
