well what kinds of things do you like? do you go to the movies just to laugh, to think, to dream about a different time/life/place? tell me what you like in a movie and i'll make some suggestions!
I think Australia looks sooo good! I am hoping to go see that this weekend.
I think I wrote this in a other thread but the very BEST movie I've seen recently was Cadilliac Records - the story of 40s - 60s stars Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Etta James, Howlin' Wolf - my favorite Chuck Berry - I felt it differed slightly from a formulated 'music bio pic genre" The acting, music, & clothes were fabulous -

I think it's going to be a sleeper hit & do better on DVD

It might still be out - but they might just be holding in over here in the St Louis Area due to Chuck Berry (He's our star <3)
I just saw the spirit, it was pretty good. I'll be seeing Cadilliac Records next.
I wanted to see Cadillac Records, but it was only playing here in one art house waaaaay on the south end of the city. Booooo.

I couldn't remember the last time I'd been to a movie (July?) so I went to see Valkyrie last night. Tom Cruise is good enough in it to forget that he's a nutjob in real life, and really, isn't that the whole point of acting? Besides, he's practically perfected the stiff, principled character. ;) Bill Nighy was great, too. I'm a bit curious about the top billing for Kenneth Branagh, who plays his role well but quite frankly, isn't in much of the movie.
There aren't a whole lot of female characters, but it was great to see the period hair and wardrobe. The movie itself is well-shot (props to the cinematographer) and quite pretty for what is essentially a Guy Movie. I wouldn't run out to see it in the theater, but it's certainly enjoyable.
o you just MUST go see Marley and Me!!! the previews look so amazing every time i see them i want to ram a pencil through my brain!!!
Oooh! I'm going to c valkyrie tonite. I'm a bit of a history buff, so it looks really good to me!

If off to see Cadillac Records tonight. I love the style and the music is tops!
7 Pounds. It's a beautiful movie, with great actors. Be prepared to cry though...it'll pull your heartstrings for sure!
