Where can I find good good retro/vintage style purses. Most of the websites that I like for clothing either don't carry purses or they have purses with tatoo designs or pinups printed on them. I am looking for something more authentic. I am going to check out a couple of local thrift stores this weekend. But shoping online is so much easier!

eBay and etsy are chock-full of vintage purses. Also check out vintage resellers like LuciteBox.com, modbag.com, vintagebag.com, retrodesignerdeals.com... a quick Google search will bring up thousands of hits.

Thanks, those sites were great. I tried searching google and ebay, but with the millions of results that come up it would take me for ever to search through!

Isn't it great and so overwhelming at the same time?! The more specific you can be with your keywords, the better. Do you know you want leather? Alligator? Lucite? Bakelite? Red? Navy? Tell the search engine!

I've had really good luck finding purses at antique stores and more-antiquey flea markets in my area. You might check those out as opposed to thrift stores, the purses are usually piled in random bins near large quantities of vintage hats whenever I come across them.

I always find mine at swap meets at car shows or something.. my father has a GIGANTIC collection of designer vintage purses he will be selling on ebay this spring.. i will link him from my site!!

You could try ebay! I managed to find myself a vintage 1950's purse in great condition. Not bad for my first bid on ebay hehe Good luck in your search...I know what you mean about the prints on the retro styled ones. Not a big fan of those either!

Louis Vuitton has some great ones. Since they've been around for so long, many of the styles are vintage, and the new ones are vintage inspired. If you can afford it, they have some beautiful stuff.
