Mom's Approval

I remember about 3ish years ago when I started modeling my mom hated it. When I got my first tattoo (now I'm practically covered) my mom hated it.

Of course as many of you know my favorite pin up and role model is Dita Von Teese because I can relate to her most since she is in the modern world. There are photos of her modeling on her mother's couch and the photos are OH SO GORGEOUS.

It got me thinking, "Why can't I have a cool mom that supports my modeling nude or in lingerie?"

Do any of you have conservative mothers like mine? I feel awkward!

My mother isn't like that, but my father is. Everytime I get a piercing or tattoo he decides to give me a 20 minute lectur, then always comments on how i'm destroying my body.

I know how you feel. My mom about had a heart attack when she seen my first tat (partly cuz she doesnt know what it means). She asks me all the time if Im getting more and I keep telling her yes, so eventually she will get over it. LOL!! ;) Im starting to get into modeling as well....and I havent told her anything because she seems to be kind of closed minded, but at the sametime she has seen a few pics of Bettie Page and a few others and thinks I should do a few shots. So I suppose shes ok in some aspects but not others. Now if she knew of my piercings, well then that would be a whole new story!!!

My mom is really confusing! She says she wants to see my photos but then makes absolutely no comments when she sees them! If she does make a comment it is to say "You should make your mole darker" or "I am glad you are letting your hair grow"
To me anyways it seems we are always looking for approval from our parents. The one who is the most approving and nice is my grandma :) even of the risque shots

Well I've shown my mom some of my photos and she says, "That's too provocative". We're talking about a woman who doesn't even like strippers and is 100% against porn... I'm not saying what we pin ups do is pornographic, I'm just setting the stage here so you know what my mom is like. Don't get me wrong I love her more than anything but I don't want to feel like I'm living some sort of secret life! I want to be open because nothing is worse than being ashamed of what you do!

There are some people that you can never please or be 100% honest with. My mom is certainly one of those. she thinks anyone who drinks even one sip of alcohol is an alcoholic etc. I don't even show her any pics of me even in a bikini top. She is is probably as prudish and conservative as your mom, if not more. so i get what you are dealing with. Its too bad but you'll have to get used to the fact that you cant share all info with her and that doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong!

Hum, bummer. Both my parents are quite supportive of me. I'm not aloud to do nudes or bondage shoots while I live under my fathers roof, which is completely understandable and I would feel the same way.

My mother is glad that my photos are classy. When I'm on modelmayhem sometimes she tooks over and sees some piece of trash model we're both like "Her parents must be real proud" lol

She's even told me my photos are nicely done and to keep it up.

My mom freaks out whenever I get a new tattoo, and she has to get my brother involved on the lecture. But then she is always interested in the work my boyfriend does (he's a tattoo artist), and she wants my brother to get a lot of tattoos. She doesnt really understand why I like old fashioned things either, but I'm her daughter and she loves me anyways. I think she just has a complete double-standard for everything concerning guys and girls.

Be careful when calling other girls trash because just because you're not comfortable with what they do doesn't mean they aren't. I'm not telling you you're WRONG, I'm just saying be careful because every time I do that I usually bump into those people and I'm like "Oh s***..." I LOVE your modeling and yes you are VERY classy!

I still do nude and bondage shoots just because that's what I'm into. But I like classy bondage, I like to be all made up and make it pretty... I don't want to be a sweaty and grimy, noooo!!! I mix the pin up with the bondage! :)

I kind of just told my mother that I'm happy and if she doesn't like it then I apologize. At least I'm not a heroin addict!

oh no baby, my mother would just die if she knew half the things I do. i cant be honest with her , and that makes me feel terrible. I love her but she is a conservitive woman. so your not alone.
