Pinup girls with NO tattoos??

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasn't quite sure. Anyway, I'm very torn on the subject of tattoos, and one of my friends told me that you cannot be a pinup with no tattoos. I disagreed. While i'm not totally against the idea of getting one, I don't think it's completely necessary to complete the look either. I gave him the example of Bernie Dexter for instance, who yes...has a few, but isn't all tatted up either. What do you all think?

I guess you could call me old school, I don;'t mind, but for me tattoos don't belong in pinup photos. None of the true pinup models ever had any. Betty Grable, Carole Lombard, Elenor Powell and many others, who defined pinup, never had any of them, Honestly, I think the tattoos makes the models look trashy, but that is just me, your mileage many vary

You´re really not alone...and i don´t agree that pin ups HAVE TO BE tattooed...i have two very small tattoos and i love tattoos and i would love to have more but on the other side i really love the classic pin up style and for me it looks better without tattoos...so i´m always between two descisions ;-)

I don't have tattoo's and I love doing pinup.

I love pinup cause any shape or size or look can do it.

of course there can be, and are pin up girls without tattoos! I'm pretty sure most original pin ups didn't have tattoos at all. <3

Butterfly said it perfectly. Before anyone starts putting down others for having tattoos or not having tattoos, lets remember, "any shape or size or look can do it".

I've been trying to find pinup models with out ink. If you were on in my town I would put a high value on your work.

I agree with you. I been living this lifestyle for 5 years and I have yet to tattoo my body. I do not think it is necessary.

WELL, I FOR ONE PREFER NO TATOOS.  BUT, I'M OLD FASHIONED.  IT DOESNT WORK FOR ME ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT A TRUE RETRO LOOK.  THINK MARILYN MONROE PEOPLE.
