Me and Clint Catalyst at Senior Prom 1989

Can you see the teen angst? I was full of it. Clint and I have know each other since kindergarten and we still know each other 30 years later. He was my very gay date to prom. Yes, I was and am a f**-hag and yes, I knew and he knew he was gay. This was a coupling of convenience. We both knew we would dress to each other's liking.
The dress was bought 2nd hand from an actual beauty queen contestant named Kara H**** (yes, that's her real name) from our commercial art vo-tech class. It had a hot pink ginormous bow on the bum which I surgically removed. Those are mirrors glued to Clint's jacket.
We only stayed for pictures as the red-neck jocks of my Arkansas high school wanted to kick the "f*** and the witches" a****. We high-tailed it to Memphis (a mere hour's drive from Jonesboro) to George's Disco Inferno (Gay bar that let us obviously underaged impressionable teens in to frolick with the rest of the southern fried freaks) not long after this pic was taken for our "real" prom. ahhhh...good times.

I didn't have my own fancy-fancy vintage until the spring Booze Cruise the year following Prom... and I have no photos of that FABULOUS dress! Instead, here's a prom photo of me (and my pal Jamie, who I had to beg to go with me) wearing a black taffeta dress. Jamie was ready to kill me, because this dress was a last-minute substitution for the dress that I'd been planning on wearing up until that very day! He was afraid that the cream-and-burgundy rosebud wristlet he'd picked out wouldn't match the new dress. And he's not even gay!
OMG Should I!?

My boyfriend and I, who are still together, took a Desoto to the prom instead of going with everyone else in the Limo and had Photo's taken in front of my house with the car. We wore head to toe vintage (ex. our unmentionables...lol)

Ha! That is awesome! I will have to find a prom pic to post soon! I was such a hippie chic back then about 10 years back!
Wink you are too cute!!!

Love love love all the pix! What a great idea for a thread. Sadly I have no prom pictures, it was 1997 and we went to a rave instead. I wore lots of glitter and not much else....lol.
