With so many new magazines popping up lately, I am curious to know which is your favorite magazine to submit to (model or photographer)?  Retro Lovely has set a pretty high standard, who do you think compares?  Do any exceed?

I have been working recently on some pinup sets with submission potential as well, but have yet to submit. I too am interested in that list if there is one.

Hey Kristelle,

I submitted to Tease and Cake, but never received a response.  Is a acceptance/decline typically sent?  I think it sounds great and the set I submitted is all Elvgren styled, so I thought it might have been up the right alley.  I love your photos by the way, so many fun and beautiful ones :)

I'm thoroughly bias of course as I am on the team but if you love your retro publications then you must check out Tease and Cake! www.teaseandcake.co.uk or www.facebook.com/teaseandcake :) The aim is to put out a high quality magazine which sticks as faithfully to the style of the original girlie magazines of the 50s as possible. We're always on the look out for truly retro inspired models and cheesecake models!
As a model I also love Delicious Dolls, very professional team and nice publication. Pin up Perfection, Atomic Bombshells, The Cats Meow and of course Bachelor Pad are all firm favourites of mine. xx

I agree that on paper magazines is the best Retro Lovely. In digital magazines I would say the best is the Spanish magazine Lovely Retro  (very similar, yeahhh) that is dedicated to retro vintage in general and has a section called Top 100 sirens entirely dedicated to the publication of photographs of vintage models and photographers, including pinup, in superb quality and a very attractive design. I think in this sense there is no one  better. And I know that you can send pictures and are quickly publish.

The magazine is called Revista Vintage Lovely Retro (http://lovelyretro.com) . Hope you like it, I love.

Atomic Bombshells, Retro Lovely and Pinup Perfection are my favorites. ;)

I also loved Vintage Milkcow, but I heard they are no longer publishing... :(

Shana- yep no more Milkcow, such a shame! :(

Jessie- did you receive the initial automated response outlining what happens next with our submissions process? :)

Here's my list of magazines that "fit" the category, I believe:

Retro Lovely
Atomic Bombshells
Milkcow Vintage
Bachelor Pad
Pinup Perfection
Cat's Meow
Bella Morte
Drive In
Sugar Heart Magazine
Tease and Cake
Striptease Magazine
The Vicious Bettys
Pin Up America
Ol' Skool Rods
Rat Rod Magazine
Rockabilly Deluxe
Pistol Magazine
Sinical Magazine
Delicious Dolls
Classy Keen Magazine
Fashion Bombshell Magazine
American Classic
Pin Curl Magazine
Rod Kulture Deluxe

I know I'm missing some... :/

Atomic Bombshells is pretty awesome :)  I need to check out Pinup Perfection again.  It has been quite a while since I have tried them.  Did Cupcake Quarterly close up?

We actually always accepted images from any photographers.  Issue No.9 was 25% new artists.  Where we just opened it up a bit again is via Talent Scout where models can now submit.  Issue 10 (which is inbound) actually has 10 pages as a result of Talent Scout submissions.  We also have some images fed to us that were "featured" right here on Pinup Lifestyle.

RL does have a high standard, and I've never heard any complaints from people submitting to Retro Lovely, although they do it differently then anyone else. The only way to submit is to be a member of their PinUp Syndicate or go through the Talent Scout program.

I really like submitting to Poetic PinUp Revue (www.poeticpinuprevue.com). Harleen is a professional, courteous woman who always replies to emails in a timely manner. They also send each contributor a copy of the magazine.

Retro Lovely pretty much sets the standard for print IMO. It's a high quality mag that expands on the tradition of Pin Up and provides an opportunity for new models and photographers that excel in their genre.

Just wanna throw it out there that the new issue of Pin up Perfection is amazing and features a couple holiday recipes by your truly! :)

I'm also submitting a "how to" on making your own set of pasties for the next issue ( I have my own etsy shop where I sell such items) and I am going to be working with one of our very own members to write a wonderful article to submit. So everyone needs to check it out! BTW......You can go to the magcloud website and "browse" the magazine before you buy. That will give all you girls who wanna submit photos the chance to check out the quality of the magazine.
