Ok so I don't know if this will get a response or not. But I'm just thinking about moving to California (L.A area) as soon as I can. And I want some info on how it's like there now..are there jobs? How much is rent? Also what the psychobilly, roackabilly scene is like? I know it a million times better then here (Toronto) just wondering...so if you want tell me what it's like please.
Thanks!

Hmm...yeah I geuss moving during a economic recession is not such a good idea..Stupid recession and the rich people that caused it. Anyway I'm finishing up a film and hopefully I enter it in to some film fests over there. That way I could finally check out this city and get so much needed sun and warmth. Why is it so fricking cold here? : (
Oh well..thanks for the advice everyone.
I loved reading what other people had to say about Socal. I've never really given it much thought living here my whole life and everything. What does someone think who doesn't live here? It was fastinating.

It is expensive to live here. But so worth it in so many ways. Besides the weather, there is always something to do no matter what you like to do and there are alot of different jobs within the area. You don't have to just work at the factory or hospital like everyone else. That being said, jobs have been scarce here lately. The economy has been tight. Arnold has put us in quite a bind with his "I have NO idea what I'm doing" term. We've been staying afloat though.

Look into renting a house too. "Roommates wanted" that sort of thing. We found that renting a house was the same money as an apartment. And, if you have a roommate, you won't be on top of each other.

I wish you all the wisdom for such a big life decision!
Oh boy! I just had the craziest weekend! : ) I went to the Big John Bates show on Friday (of course I had to call in sick because I work weekend nights..) and met this guy there who turned to be a director...from L.A.! Was it coincedence? No it was fate! : P Haha..So I got to talk lots about L.A, movies, filmmaking, movies, etc. Never in a million years did I think I would run into someone like that in that dump. I mean I used to go to punk shows there when I was 17 complete with stupid nazi boneheads..it's in one of shitty areas of this town.
Anyhow that was cool and I'm CONVINCED I should move to L.A and get into filmmaking. As crazy as it sounds.
I'm exhuasted but it was worth it for once.. : )
And yeah it was weird showing him around Toronto and explaining that alcohol is served only until 2am...yeah it's NOT a party town.
Hey, raven... It's not just Arnold who put us here but the whole group of idiot's we all voted in ...... It's just bad times for all of us................... We gotta stay positive !!!!

Hey Anita , Come on down !!! L A is the place for all things.... Rents are high yes, but there are always roommates. The traffic sucks but you just have to with it and sooner or later you get used to it ...... My wife and I know lot's of people who are the core of the L A bike culture and ride all over the city ( they have no cars). If you need a bike hit me up.... I work as a union propmaker for the studio's and it's really slow right now but when it takes off it's really gonna open up alot of doors for new people..... maybe in march( watching the strike right now).... As far as making movies ...there are 100's of low budget films being made all the time ....... If you ever want to come down let me know and we'll show ya around town and show you the bad spots to stay away from. Just come on down .... So CAl !!!
Awww...thank you flat back..I'll hold you to that offer then! Haha.. : P
Cheers, Anita
