Wintersun Shopping!!

Hi guys! With just two weeks to go before Wintersun ( in Coffs Harbour this year!!) I thought I'd make a little post about shopping while you're there!

Head to the markets at the Jetty Foreshore for amazing pinup/rockabilly deals from designers and stores from all over Australia! MisKonduct Clothing, Bonnie Rose Vintage, and My Sister's Wardrobe to name a few!

And while you're on the Coast check out the local favourite and best pinup and retro store in the area. My Sister's Wardrobe. Elyan, the owner (who you'll see shaking her tail feathers at all the dancing events too!) stocks Pinup Couture, Bernie Dexter, Hell Bunny, Glamour Bunny, Collectif, Chic Star, Leg Avenue, Music Legs  (to name a few!) and a great range of hats, fascinators and accessories. AND she is also is the coast's exclusive stockist for Stop Staring! Ahh I'm getting excited already!

Please be careful though! I find it so upsetting that my beautiful friend Elyan has put so many years of hard work into forging her business in this little town; she literally breathes this lifestyle! (she has just placed in the Miss AutumnFest pinup competition and is an Australian Rock'n'Roll dancing champ!!)  But now she is being shamelessly ripped off and copied by a store that exclusively stocks club and fetish wear (as well as tarot cards and witchery books…), and they're just a few kilometres away. Twilight Mystique in Sawtell has not only copied all of MSW's brands, but even scoured Elyan's decorations and layout inside the store and then overprices all her garments. To top it all off she is now teaming up with rock'n'roll dancers just like Elyan and copying the events that she's been a part of for so many years. I know that pinup is a relatively niche market, but the woman who owns Twilight Mystique is downright nasty and pathetic for doing this, and has been putting all her energy into trying to take My Sister's Wardrobe down. That is NOT what we're about! My Sister's wardrobe stocks a huge range of sizes and shapes so that ANY and EVERY woman can look and feel amazing!  Elyan often does her customers' hair in vintage styles for them free of charge, and gives out her makeup tips so that they can be transformed into a 1950s pinup doll! And you're sure to get an invite to one of Coffs Swing dancing sessions if you flash her a smile!

Please bear this in mind when you're shopping at Wintersun Dolls, I know this has happened to more girls than just Elyan! My Little Rockabilly in QLD has had the same thing happen to them so I just wanted to get the word out so you guys can make your own minds up :)

Thank you for the tips, I am very excited about going to the Wintersun Festival! I will be sure to call in and meet Elyan, she sounds like a lovely lady and it must be very upsetting for her to have someone copy her store!

No problem Shelley! I can't wait only 11 days to go! Come along and meet Rusty Pinto and Pat Cappoci too! We are doing a shoot with them if you'd like to be involved, advertising for My Sister's Wardrobe :) I am so so excited I'm a little bit in love with them :)
