getting started

So, heres the thing- I've always had this burning desire to pursue pin-up /alternative modeling & burlesque. i love all things retro and vintage, I'm a huge fan of tattoo and pin up art, and i know that i'd be great for print work.

 

i just have no idea where to start!! does anyone have any suggestions? any particular websites that i should peruse? any people that i should contact? i live 20 mins out side of philadelphia.

 

i have a photo session with a local photographer booked in two weeks, after that i plan on setting up a model mayhem account and submitting to retro lovely.

 

what else should i be doing?

For tips on how to get started in PinUp Modeling, check out the PinUp 101 section of my website www.roxy-tart.com. There is a ton of information in there to help you out. Also, spend some time reading the forum, this question has been asked many times before, and there are some great tips in here too. To book some photo shoots in your area, add a casting call looking for a photographer in the casting calls section. You can find it by clicking Castings at the top of any page.

I'm in the same situation as you! I feel like I really have no idea where to begin... I plan on making a model mayhem account as well in order to be apart of more photo shoots and begin submitting photos to magazines and websites to gain recognition. I think just really networking and getting your name out there is the best thing we can do to get our foot in the door. I hope you are successful in your future as a model/burlesque dancer. (:
