Searching for a certain lipstick color

If anyone can help me, I will love them forever. I'm searching for a super dark, matte, wine lipstick. And When I say wine, I mean dark, purple/red and almost looks like vintage velvet. I've seen it featured in tons of high fashion and editorial shoots and can't seem to find it anywhere. Are all these make-up artists just mixing there own? I'm not sure if I'm describing the color well and if you guys actually know the color I'm talking about, but if you do....HELP. I've checked Mac. They don't have anything close. I'm willing to spend money on a high end brand (although of course cheaper is always better).

I'll have to go check that out at a store, thanks. Unfortunitely it's so hard to tell just looking at the tube. If I remember the original Vamp (it's been a long time since I've had it) it was too red (or was it too brown?...damn this bad memory). The milani looks closer to what I was looking for, although not a matte, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the advice though. I'll definitely check it out.

If the color is what you want, you can try to mattify your lipstick with a little loose face powder.

Will that keep it on longer? Part of what I hate about shiny lip colors is there gone so damn quickly I might as well not bother wearing any in the first place. Matte lipsticks stay on much longer....

It definitely extends the wear. I use Make Up For Ever super matte loose powder, tapped on with an eyeshadow crease brush.
