Alabaster skin!

Any tips for a good foundation that ll give me a nice pin-up-flawless base? I never used foundation at all untill recently - working night shifts is ruining my skin but ya gotta love the money!!!

I use Bare Escentuals Prime Time to hold my foundation in place all day, and I use Stila's Sheer Color tinted moisturizer... it's good for your skin and has a good amount of pigment. A good concealer works on anything that got missed! :)

I'v used a pale liquid foundation with a darker powder and it gave me a nice grow. You need to make sure that you completely and evenly cover your skin with the darker powder. It was a light beige. And run the powder down your neck in a V shape so is doesn't look like your wearing a mask.

If your looking for an alabaster look try Shiseido. They have many foundation products in light skintone ranges for all skintypes.
When I'm shooting I use MAC Studio Fix over top of a liquid foundation for extra coverage and a flawless look although it is TOO heavy for everyday use. MAC mineralized Skinfinish is really nice but too golden for my pinky/white skin :-)

I would recommend using whatever makes your skin behave best. Everyone has different skin. MAC has never had anything light enough for me I'm THAT pale! I have to use Sephora or Revlon or something.

It depends on if you are talking about for film or for everyday wear because i don't think you clarified that. but definitely your skincare and using a foundation primer makes a huge difference! Smashbox's photo finish is a very popular primer. right now i am using makeup forever's hd primer, hd foundation and hd powder. the powder is great, it is super fine milled and is a white translucent. you know, a lot of how your finished product is going to look has to do with application techniques. use brushes, not fingers to apply foundation, etc. i need to know what kind of skin you have and how long you want the makeup to last, under what conditions and for what purpose to give a thorough answer though. :)

In reply to some questions........
my skin tone is quite olive-y so I go very brown in summer in I dont stay outta the sun, but in autumn and winter my skin just looks grey. This also means that I get huge under eye shadows

I just want foundation for day wear cos sadly i'm not a model!!

Bare Essentials is probably best for your skin because it's for all types of skin. It has AMAZING coverage. I try to stay away from liquid foundations b/c it clogs your pores so badly! Well... for me it does. I also have SUPER oily skin.
