I think the hardest thing for most women is to just get out there and ask.  I mean, you are putting a lot on the line-- will I look good, do they even want to shoot me-- that kind of stuff.  But you have to do it if you want to do it, if you know what I mean. 

 

Get a head shot of you with little or no makeup.  And a profile.  Keep it photoshop free.  You need a body shot.  Make sure all your facial expressions aren't the same one.  Other than that, get lots of practice in front of the camera and pick your best ones.

I think my biggest hold up is how do I build up the portfolio shots without breaking the bank.  Is it just a matter of meeting the right photographer willing to trade?  I would be happy to offer promoting a photographer in exchange for photographs.  Is that even a possibility?
