"We Are The New Vintage"
Just wondering if any of ya'll are in the same situation or had any tips.
I've always loved vintage/retro/pin up/rockabilly style and finally feel confident enough to begin attempting to dress that way daily and not just for very special occasions. I feel so glamorous and beautiful!
One area where I've been having trouble is work. I'm a veterinary technician and wear scrubs to work. My hair can't be elaborate because it will more then likely get messed up. Makeup has to be easily repaired and nails kept short.
Does anyone have any tips on REALLY easy "pin up" style casual hair? I feel so confidant when I feel beautiful and I'd love to apply that to work.
Thanks!
Jeanne

Even if you curl your hair overnight in whatever kind of way (pincurls, sponge curlers, rag curlers, etc) and you just pin it up that looks nice and doesn't take much time. Another way to pin it up rather than just making a ponytail and putting it on top of your head is to part your hair horizontally at your ears and pin that up using a hair comb or bobby pins. Then take the rest and pin it up as well. This way the hair isn't ALL on TOP of the head. Then just pin some of the curls in place. It depends on how long or short your hair is. Experiment, have fun with it!
And when it comes to makeup really all you need is some mascara and a thin line, wing tip line of eyeliner. When I have a really long day where I know I'll be looking down at paperwork or what have you, I tend not to put liner on the bottom so it won't rub off on my skin and make my circles look darker.
I have the same kind of issue, not as extreme though. I work in a coffee shop (corporately owned though) and have to wear my hair up, no fake nails, black and white collared shirts ect. I use to wear the bettie page bangs but they are so high maitnance and they also make me look a lot younger. More recently I've been doing a poney tail with some quick curles and an Imelda May inspired twist of my bangs:
Red Lipstick is always a quick and easy way to translate pin up and for a more vintage look a light pink was really popular for housewives on the go. Cat eye style liner is also quick and just a little blush on the apples of your cheeks is easy to maintain.
The great thing about pin up is that you can interpret it however you want. The reason why there are so many different types is simply because of that reason. Take what you like and make a hybrid that works for you. Hope this helps any, have fun with it!
Be Good!
