Ok I need your help. I currently have a lot of ink that is black grey and a splash of white. Im gonna start my sleeve soon and it has been suggested by friends that I should add color. Now this is where the brain starts tinkering...should I put some color in my sleeve or should I just keep it all black and grey? Would it look right if just my sleeve had color and not the rest of my tattoos? Please help Ms. Behaving XoXoXo

Hi, Ms. Behaving (and that's too bad!!!!)

I work with a girl with who has a black & white "blocked in" (hasn't added the color yet) tattoo of a mermaid which I think is actually quite lovely just as it is without the color! I dig it that way - it's more like a "drawing" without the color added. Anyway, I think a "combination" of color and no color tattoos can be very cool! Just my 2 cents!!!

If you are working with a theme with your ink stay with the black and grey. I have color with all of my ink and that is just personal choice. The choice is yours its your life and Body. Hope this Helps.

I have the same dilemma with my 1/2 sleeve, I have a Whitney Lenox inspired pin up girl piece in black grey and red and i want to add another piece to my upper  underarm. I have a coloured piece on my foot which I love but I have darker skin & am more worried about fading. I think its a personal choice and if u arent sure, just stick with a few colours such as black, grey, red and yellow ! good luck & u do what u like !!

Its up to you but If it makes you feel better majority of inked people have varieties of tattoos rather than a certain "theme" throughout. I mean i see people that have traditional flash, portraits, Asian, tribal, black and grey all over all mixed in somewhere on their body. Go with your gut instinct. If it makes you feel better I love it when people have black and grey with splashes of color.
hey the black and gray will age better, so you might want to stick with that but its up to you girl!!!
Hello Love, honestly when it comes to tattoos, I see mine as an extension of me and I go with whatever color best suits the piece. If you like the blacks and greys and really want color, you can always go monochromatic. That's Art Nerd for " Black, white, grey, one color and a mix of shades that fall within that palette." But really and truly, it's your ink, and it all boils down to what YOU want--not someone else. :-) Good Luck!
I think you should add some color because It will look more hot. But that's a personal decision, so you have to choose what you prefer. Hope it helps :)
I agree - its a personal thing on whether or not you go colour or black and grey, I think it looks really nice with black and grey but when you highlight that artwork with colour, I have a half sleeve with roses and its all black and grey but with colour washes in it, so it looks like watercolours. I think they looks great when you do both!
I think a combination of the two always looks great when the colour isn't too bold or vivid, subtle coloured highlights or paler tones etc if that makes sense...
