"We Are The New Vintage"
I have measurements of 34-28-36.
I was wondering if I could work out a bit and get it somewhere in between. Are there any exercises you'd recommend?
I'm planning on starting tight lacing sometime, so I'm not too concerned about my waist, although I did hear that having a tummy makes your boobs look smaller. Is that true? Because my D-cups do not look that big, and uh... balancing out my backside would be rather nice, I think.

My waist doesn't show. I look like I don't have one :/
I think corsetry would be your best bet for a smaller waist.
I had to loose weight around my middle, not only to look better but to be healthy, as women who have a waist over 35 inches are at risk for all sorts of things.
Oxygen magazine (and the website) have all sorts of great ideas for working the midsection.I suggest crunches (my favorite being the bicycle crunch)
I've been working on getting a small waist for about a month now (and overall toning) and my measurements are
38-30-40
and before I worked out I was 38-37-40
I'll be getting a corset and start waist training- but only after I reach my goal weight.
I have been working on reducing my waist using the excercises on this page Pinups art-n-style waist workout there is also info on waist training with corsets. I started at 28" am now down to 26.5" my aim is 24, but I would be happy with 25.
I agree with Shalynn Monrose about the but lift workout its great, I also like dance to burn callories.
Unfortunately, there is no way to spot reduce. If you want a slimmer waist, you are gonna have to burn fat before you start doing those crunches. Crunches will make your core stronger but until the layer of fat on top of them is burned off, the slimming effect isn't going to show. I suggest cardio 3-5 times a week, but unfortunately you are gonna be burning fat all over, not just your waist. To "put back" what you willl lose in those other areas strength training for your glutes is what is gonna give you the curve.....the Brazillian Butt Lift as Shalynn suggested is an excellent program. If you don't have the money to spend then you can get similar results doing a variety of exercises with squats and lunges. I swear by a butt workout by "SparkPeople" on YouTube
Another thing to help your waist look smaller is to prevent bloating. Avoid high sodium, processed foods, drink lots of water and get adequate amounts of fiber in your diet. I also take an acidophilus supplement every day and that helps my bloating ALOT....for me bloating is genetic from the sensitive systems that run in my mom's side of the family. The acidophilus pills are an absolute life saver. Water pills also help alot with the crazy water retention we girls deal with from hormones, PMS, or again in my case genetics.
Yeah that is true I should have said that before. I didnt start really waist training until I had lost overall fat (I lost a cup size up top and about an inch below). And I do use the butlift excercises to make the curve more pronounced. Beware lunges though they do little for your butt and can just make your thighs bigger unless done at the correct angle.
And bloating...totally

What kind of girdle would you ladies suggest? Been wondering is spanx is a good one? I just had my 3rd baby 7M ago so my core strength is like 0 lol But the bicycle crunch suggestion sounds awesome-going to start trying that!
