A word from Michael Bann, Publisher of Retro Lovely Magazine

 

"Prior to the launch of Retro Lovely No.1 we became members of Pinup Lifestyle. There was no one single place where we found such a concentration of exactly who we felt would love Retro Lovely.  As we visited the site, we saw more and more great imagery being showcased as their "featured" images.  Uncanny to us was that over the next year, as we selected content for Retro Lovely, we'd go on to find some of the same images were featured on Pinup Lifestyle.  We noticed a very distinct trend where the images that caught their eye, came to our attention too.

 

This led to the creation of the "PinupLifestyle Presents" spread that is now an integral part of each of our issues.  We applaud their "welcoming" tone and manner with which they govern their site, and with this trust, we became very excited when the suggestion was made that imagery that they single out be brought to our attention in a more formal and structured manner.

 

We trust their eye, we trust their practices, we listen and look more closely at things they point out to us.  Over the past year, we've had a great many fans of the magazine suggest to us that we expand our website or launch yet another social networking site. Our reply has been, and will remain, "we have no need to; what we'd do already exists; you find it at pinuplifestyle.com."

Every photo that is uploaded onto PL is approved one at a time by the PL Team or the Madams. The PL Team spends hours looking through EVERY photo to find the ones that catch their eye, and the attention of others. As stated in the original post "When featuring, we look first at images that are rocking the top 10 for the day, week, or sometimes even month!"  (you can find the top 10 here: http://www.pinuplifestyle.com/leaderboards) So that means the best way to get featured is to get your photo the attention it deserves. Use the share buttons to link it to your twitter, facebook, tumblr, etc. And keep posting amazing photos, you never know what one will be chosen.
