I have fairly short hair and I always get stuck doing hairstyles. It's not a very good cut in the first place to style (short on the sides and a long part on top - bad choice).

So I usually curl it and do 2 elevated pin curls on top with one side of my hair tucked away behind my ear and the rest hanging on the other side.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas I could try to change it up a little.

Hmmm, I've never tried fingerwaves actually. It's crossed my mind but I might give it a go. Thanks.

Can you do finger waves? The long part on the top would be perfect. That would work out well I think for the way you are describing it. ......Also, using some facinator clips, or a flower clip. I have short hair as well, and I think the fingerwave 1920's look is sliver screen glamorous. I like using the clips for a more modern look, and it hides the awkward aspect of my hair cut well. Personally, I prefer the way I look with short hair, so I'll be keeping things short~

I'm having a hard time picturing what your current cut is like, but take a peek at this tutorial by Dollhouse Kitty. If you can't do the exact style, maybe it will give you some inspiration to try some variation of it.

Thanks guys.
  1. Start with very wet and full of setting lotion hair.
  2. Dry under heat until completely dry.
  3. Brush out with boars hair brush.
  4. Shape into set and hairspray.

TMy model posted above had very short textured hair and short bangs. The more textured the hair is the harder it is to get those deep waves. You can at the most in the case of short short textured hair get some waves like my model above. The idea hair is mostly all the same in length and short. Then you can get those deep S pattern waves we all love laying along the hairline onto the face. Good Luck!

Go to google images and put in "1950s ads women" and "1950s cosmetic ads". Most women in the 50s had pretty short hair, and you can get some great ideas from the models in the ads. Here's a few:
I love Elizabeth Taylor's short cut from back in the day
