CHAT SYSTEM UPDATE

 

We tried a new chat for a little bit, unfortunately with something like that there is no way to test it outside of a live environment. This made you all guinea pigs, we listened to your feedback and tried many things to meet in the middle with feature requests.

 

Lots of work was put into getting the new chat system to sync up your user info, however that added step increased wait time before you actually entered the room, this added to user frustration. The benefits of that system like reduced "chat omnoms" and advanced moderation did not outweigh the downside of load time. The old chat system has returned, however with 1 less feature, we will no longer show users that are on the network browsing. This will give you a better idea of whos eyes are actually in the chatroom.

Faster faster FASTER FASTER WE GO! I'm certain many of you will go crazy without the WHO'S ONLINE feature live at the top of the site, but it really did slow things down quite a bit load time wise. All recent changes have been to optimize the current state of PL, we think you like the current layout and want to now just focus on streamlining it!

 

For the rowers keep on rowing, And they're certainly not showing, Any signs that they are slowing!

What's up with all the white?  I kinda liked all the black.  Either way the sites great.

Just kidding! We did test out a white theme for a few days, you happened to catch it in it's last few minutes of existence, Jason! :)  

 

What we're really trying to do here on PL is be on the edge of pinup - accepting & encouraging all types of the style from classic to modern. What better way to say 'edgy' than black?? It's sleek, classy, and sexy - just like pinup. With that in mind, plus all the user feedback we received, we've gone back to our classic dark look and will be refining it little by little to make browsing PL even easier (& faster!).

I was thinking about this a little more.  The white does look a little more like the rest of my desktop which made reading PL at work a little less 'edgy'.  I'm glad to see the black back.  Wonder if I can hack the CSS at work and make it white and get a little more PL in my day.

Ya'll might know this already but you're getting a php error at the very top of the page. fopen is failing. I'm not sure if that's the culprit, I don't do a lot of php, but after the page seems to be loaded the spinner keeps spinning and the menu doesn't seem to work quite right. After a while the spinner stops and stuff is still broke.

Not a complaint of course just trying to help out.

The old Favorites system was turned off today, officially being replaced by the very popular LOVE! feature. Enjoy!

We begin the 10,000 member celebration with a sleek new look for http://www.PinupLifestyle.com !

 

Smooth new navigation menu, wider layout, inverted color scheme to better focus on content and frame photos, higher visibility for buttons, & much quicker loading time.

 

The entire infrastructure was revamped, unfortunately there was a downside, ALL profile customizations were completely reset to default. This HAD to happen because the tools for customization are now completely different, way easier, and way more powerful. There would have been no benefit from having a heads up either as none of your settings were "exportable" from the previous setup. Enjoy customizing your profile with a fresh look, rumor has it there is a contest to be announced shortly too ;)

 

We're sure to have some bugs to iron out, please feel free to report them in here, otherwise...
