I was thinking about putting my 63 Ford Galaxie "Barbarella" in the car show this year.

Before I make the commitment to stay at the Hootenanny until 10-11pm, would like to know what a typical day is like.

i went for the 1st. time last summer.  i liked it but ran out of things to do after a couple of hours.  i shopped until i couldn't figure out anything else to buy.  i sat down and slooooowly ate a bacon wrapped hot dog.  i walked around the "car show" which seemed more like a big private meeting then open viewing.  i dunno, i just didn't have a good time and the vibe wasn't very friendly.  i may have opted to stay and see more of the bands if i had gone with someone.  but this was not my favorite event.
A buddy of mine went to the  Hootenanny, she said the same thing. The vibe there was not very friendly. She said a few people there made her feel very uncomfortable.  Being that she was alone, she just left. Thats too bad, I heard so many cool things about the Hootenanny. Maybe next time will be better. I will go next time to see for myself.
I went one time with a large group and we had fun for a few hours.  But, the day is way too long in the hot sun with limited food and very little beverage choices.   I wouldn't be able to put my car in the show, I'd leave way before the event ended.  The car show was very small the year I went, more like VIP parking than a car show.   I won't go again.   As far as people being nice, near the end of the day 2 guys saw my sister and I going to use the porta potty - let us know which ones to avoid, waited outside for us with purelle and a towel.  The water had run out hours ago.  We thought the crowd was pretty friendly for a big outdoor event in the blazing sun.
