I'm going to be doing hair and makeup for photo shoots and it will be my first. What should I bring as far as make-up? These will be for pinup styles. I'm kinda confused on foundation especially because I can't provide it for everyone. Help me please.

You could get a palette with multiple shades of foundation? Also a powder to set the foundation. Definitely black eyeliner, and red lipstick! False lashes!! Good Luck!

I am a cosmetologist who just started with MUA. Before I got my kit together I asked my models to bring or wear their own foundation and powder to the shoot. Also, make sure their eyebrows are done. I can not stand trying to do pinup with bushy eyebrows. You'd think most girls would know better but they don't. Other than that bring lots of neutral eyeshadows for brows and contouring. Bring a good liquid liner and mascara with disposable wands (never double dip). Blush or no blush depends on the model and set I think but i always contour. Bring a few shades of red lipstick for different skin tones. I recommend red revival by maybelline. It is flattering on must skin tones. Also, try to avoid glitter or very shimmery shadows. They reflect light and are not suitable for editorial. Hope this helps :-)

I have done the same thing as Samatha with a twist. I have them bring their usual base. I apply it, for a couple of reasons. This way I can attack those unruly browns she mentioned and also because I want to be certain the base she uses blends well. Don't want the chin/neck streaks. I always carry 3 tones in a liquid that I can blend together with others to get the right color. At the moment, I use Makeup Forever but I have used Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. Its good for a smooth finish.

Oh! And don't forget Primer!
