Iron-And-ink, Reno Rockabilly Riot, Viva Las Vegas, etc.

So I've never been to a good convention and this year my best friend and I decided it's our goal to choose one and go! But... we're sort of having a hard time figuring out which ones are good for 18 year olds. See, we first were planning to attend RollerCon in Vegas-- as the die hard rollergirls we are. But we realized that a lot of the events will be held in bars or with 21+ restrictions. We want to attend an event that we can really be a part of... so what about these other awesome conventions and festivals? I'd love some feedback on what they're all about and hear about other people's experiences at them. :)

You could always check out the Red Hot and Blue Rockabilly Weekender in Montreal (up here in Canada, eh) - where the drinking age IS 18! Win.

Rad bands, gorgeous city with gorgeous people, free jive lessons, a car show and tiki party on the last day, it's good times. I can't wait to get our tickets for this year!

Ink-N-Iron is good for all ages.  I've taken my little girl the last two years.  She loves it!  It's a huge mix of ages and colors.

Ink & Iron is good, as is Viva. I'm guessing you want to stay down in the So-Cal/ Vegas area, but If you are willing to to travel we have some great all ages events up here in Nor-Cal. If you are gonna come to Viva, be sure to check out the Viva group, http://www.pinuplifestyle.com/group/VLV13. Either one you choose, see you there!!!

VLV is not 21 and under friendly. they wont even sell you tickets if youre under 21. cant even chill out in the casino. Ink N Iron is a better bet for your age. dont have to worry about getting kicked out.

Thanks for the feed back everyone! :) I'm thinking that Reno Rockabilly Riot looks like what I will be attending, but it appears like it might be the first year they've had it. I'm pretty excited! But I'd still like to hear more opinions on other events, and I'm sure there will be others who are wondering then same stuff about them. Anyways, thanks everyone!
Reno Rockabilly Riot is in it's first year! It should be a pretty good show, but as a local, I can tell you that the weather could be freezing or hot! So if you are traveling for the event make sure you pack lots of layering options as out weather is crazy unpredictable!!! Good luck, and hope you have a blast at the show! I will be there too!!
RRR is in it's first year but one of my best friends is very involved in the whole planning process, and it seems like it will be the most 18 year old friendly, and its sure to be alot of fun!
I'm an official sponsor for Reno Rockabilly Riot and I can tell you that the entire event including shows are all ages, accept for The Best in the West Burlesque Competition which is 18+.
