ok so i have a possible shoot for a b&w shoot what colors,patterns, textures...etc... would look best

Colors will give you various shades of greys, black is black and white is white. Interesting question but I don't believe there is something you shouldnt wear, less colors will equal more drama probably because there will be less greys.

I think stripes are a no-no and its probably best to stay away from very busy patterns.  Velvets, leather and rich fabrics are good.  Do a search of b & w photos to see what catches your eye.  Your makeup will probably be very dramatic looking in color, but just right in b & W.  Big light color hair flowers usually make a nice contrast too.  Have fun.

Good luck with the shoot. I agree with what everyone else  had said, no busy patterns. You could try looking up old photos of screen stars like Marlene Dietrich as all her photos were in black and white and pretty dramatic. Hope this helps.
