I just want to say thanks to everyone for their support & advice, it really helps. I'm not gonna drink during the week anymore...I'm really sick of feeling like crap at work until like 2pm. If i do drink on the weekend, I'm not going to drink until I blackout like I have been. My fiancee is really happy that I "manned-up" and decided to set myself straight. Its not a good thing when you blackout everytime you drink. Its not a good thing when you pass out in someone else's front lawn. Its not good to dry heave for 10 minutes after you brush your teeth because your gag reflex is so messed up. If and when I do drink again, it will be to relax and enjoy myself....not to get so messed up I lose everything and hurt the people I love. Thanks again everyone, I'll keep ya posted on my success.
Just keep up the good work; you CAN do this!

this is super late! but im still trying to get the hang of this site....

i hope ur sobriety is going well...

just spend A LOT of time with family. working out that could help!!!

My Dad's advice to me was "Drink till you can feel it, not till you can't feel a thing."

As a woman there area always so many dangers out there with people who prey those lose control of themselves. You can't always depend on friends or strangers to keep you out of danger.

I've never drunk alcohol (other than champagne at weddings etc), and there are so many things that distract me from going out getting drunk, like painting, day-trips, films and music. I'm sure you'll be able to learn something new or find a new talent within yourself in the time that you don't drink. You should try something you've never done before.

I used to go to the pub every night with a group of male friends and I'd always be the one not drinking, it actually turned out as an advantage because I'd be the only one able to remember all the hilarious horrendous things they'd done! (This is my way of proving; you can still go out and have fun without having to drink.)

Plus, non-alcoholic cocktails are actually amazing.

Whoa, sorry for my really late reply, still new on this site!
