After 3.5 years of date this morning my man asked me to marry him! I am so very excited its unbelievable, and i have no clue where to even start on planning or what we want.

We are not very traditional, i am contemplating a marriage in Las Vegas with close family friends, and then a nice large reception at the drag strip (common thread we share) still dont knnow though.... thoughts?

He saw your "What did you get for christmas reply!" Hahaha kidding kidding, that's awesome congrats! I say go on making an awesome untraditional reception, but...that event is for guests, not so much for you to be comfortable, the smells & noise levels of an active drag strip might not be ideal for parents, grandparents, & kids to be able to enjoy your company.

Haha, yeah I am sure he doesnt get on PL at all!

Thanks for pointing out the noise and smells of a drag strip, i did not even think about it because we are used to it we dont even notice it anymore.

Get married at Viva!! Then we can all be there to celebrate!! Congrats hon, that is awesome news! xoxo

I wish we were going to VIVA! I would so do it then!!!!

But we didnt book in time for a trip to viva, now the orleans is completely sold out, and plane tickets get higher by the moment... :(

I sell vintage wedding dresses on Etsy as well as from my little shop on the web: the trousseau

Last year we went to VIva and stayed at a condo time share about a quarter mile from the venue.  We had a brand new place with 800 sq feet complete with a kitchen and all utensils.  It was a great place to stay.  Oh, it was less than the The Orleans.

Congratulations! I got married in Vegas 6 years ago.  We did the cheesy drive thru wedding, rented an awesome replica 65 Shelby Cobra and said i do in front of our parents and siblings only.  very small intimate and unique! i loved my wedding!
LV and the drag strip...sounds like it will be alot of fun! Congratulations to you...check out www.offbeatbride.com. I got married 7 years ago, but I still go on the site frequently to check out all the unique and beautiful weddings. They often feature vintage/rockabilly ceremonies.
