Has anyone else seen it?

I went to the cinema to see it with my dad and his car friends and, although I was the only girl in the audience, I loved it! Me and dad often settle down to watch it when all the tv channels fail us.

The film documents Burt Munro's (played by Anthony Hopkins) epic journey from Invercargill in New Zealand to Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, meeting various people on the way including a Los Angeles transvestite, a Native American who takes 'ground up dog balls' to help with prostate trouble, and a soldier fighting in the controversial Vietnam war. It all culminates on the Salt Flats with Burt setting numerous world records and stunning racers worldwide.

And for the ladies, being set in 1962, there are some beautiful fashions too :D

When my dad rented this when it first came out, I laughed -  Silly Hollywood, don't they know Anthony Hopkins isn't an Indian.

Yeah, I know. I should be ashamed of myself. I know better now though! I didn't watch it then, but I guess I should have. It's on my list of look-fors the next time I go to the video store. Half the time I end up forgetting that list though....

It is quite hard to find unfortunartely. In Britain only the independant cinemas showed it and then only very big media stores stock it :(
