Excerpted from Woman's World Magazine:
Believe or not, every time you slip on a pair of shoes, you're telling the world a little bit about yourself. "Everything from the height of your heel to the shape of your toe has some kind of social meaning that sends signals about who you are," observes Elizabeth Semmelhack, senior curator at the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto and author of "Heights of Fashion: A History of the Elevated Shoe."
Stilettos: You're a go-getter. The high heel is the most feminine shoe of all. It suggests confidence. You have a take-charge attitude that goes along with your healthy ego.
Ballet flats: You're elegance personified. The timeless celebrity who best exemplifies your choice of footwear? Audrey Hepburn! Like her, you exude innocence and elegance at the same time.
Mary Janes: You're a trendsetter. Mary Janes are associated with youth and innocence. And when an adult wears them, that innocence gets a fashion-forward edge. You might be sweet and optimisitc, but you're also a creative type who chooses accessories carefully.
Knee-high boots: You're a leader. Your boots scream authority and are indicators of high status. Why? Once upon a time, the boot was worn by wealthy equestrians, and the boot's upper-crust connotations remain to this day. In other words, yours is the mark of a leader.
Peep-toes: You're friendly yet mysterious. This shoe is the equivalent of a wink, so it follows that you're outgoing and friendly. Yet you're also tactful; peep-toe shoes are so attractive because they show only a hint of skin. In other words, you know that less is sometimes more.
Platforms: You're diplomatic. Your shoes are a bit more practical and stable than a stiletto, yet just as high and empowering. As a result, your footwear says you're more of a laid-back ladder-climber.
My favorites are Mary Janes; I don't know how many pairs I have! I never really considered myself a trend-setter, tho, I just like the way they look. What shoe are you?
