I think that many of these are great tips. The article is very sexist, but the tips are just good manners. Wear a bra, don't mess with your underthings, don't cry in public, don't get lipstick on someones handkerchief, don't flirt with others when on a date, don't drink too much. I think these are all good polite ways to act in public. The tips aren't bad, it's the way they are written that is.

I love stuff like this.  The tips for the most part still ring true although the writing is super sexist.  Not just the way they refer to the ladies either.  Poor man is expected to hang out with a quiet somewhat boring girl.  I used to have a book for 1951 called "Date Data" it was similar to this but, aimed at a high school crowd.  Just the illustrations were priceless to me.  We have come a long way.

Better than the advice is the photos which accompany and tell the true tale.  If I'm not wrong, it appears from the look on his face in that very first photo that she has INCREASED her allure.

my fave "for when a man dances, he wants to dance".  The truth is it's more difficult to foxtrot and talk when you have to negotiate others on the floor and choreograph the dance!  lol
