Here I am again asking for help with names!!

I am adopting a new puppy (picking her up tomorrow, squee!), and I need help naming her! I already have one pooch, named Bettie (what else?!), and the new puppy is another girl, so I want something that follows the Bettie theme; a really cute 50's-sounding girl's name :) I have looked at a few 50's names lists, but nothing really jumps out at me as the perfect dog name. I'd like it it to be 1-2 syllables for ease of calling/training.

So far the top of my list includes Rosie (as in 'the riveter'), Ava, Shirley, Lorraine, Audrey... Also considering Patsy, Debbie, Judy, Wendy, Ruby... On a side note, my boyfriend is worried about the name sounding "too old lady." He feels this way about Ruby and some others *rolls eyes* But we've been living together for 3 years and it's his dog too, so I guess he has a say in her name XD

I'm looking less for votes, and more for INSPIRATION! Maybe there's a perfect name out there somewhere that I just haven't thought of yet, so give it all you've got! Thanks!

Update! I just thought of Dita.... Bettie and Dita, how cute is that! Still looking for more suggestions, but so far I'm liking Dita...

Rosie

Paige

How about Rita or Anita!!!

Lois

Flora

Mae

Maude

Edith

Dorris

Opal

Lucy

Florence

Charlotte

And then a few three and four syllable ones;

Tallulah

Beatrice

Cordelia

Ophelia

I could go on all day...

So, what kinda doggy is it?!

The bf has vetoed Rosie :(

I'm deciding between Ava and Dita so far unless I see a new name that really strikes me!

She's a small mix. Her dad was a Shi-Tzu and her mom was a Chihuahua mix. Her fur is somewhat plush, somewhat wire-y. I'm thinking the plush coat is just puppy fur and she'll grow into a full wire-hair :) My dog Bettie is also a wire-haired mutt! I love scruffy pooches!

I love the name Ava :)

Cupcake ;) or Kitty, lol. I've heard of people naming their pets kitty if its a dog and they go 'here kitty kitty' and the people around them expect to see a cat but its a dog :p

Lucy! Also, tell your boyfriend that old people names are adorable on dogs. So says my pit bull, Arthur.

Sunny: that's cute, but I'm looking for a 50's name that matches Bettie

Louisa: Lucy is a SUPER common dog name. Having worked with animals for the past few years, I know not to name my dog Lucy, Lola, Bella, Max, Cooper, or Eddie. =P

Thanks everyone, we're still deciding and looking for more inspiration! (We are very indecisive...) A new name has entered the running too: Evie. Out of nowhere, lol

Bettie and to match Monroe
We ened up going with Ava, thanks for your help everyone!
