There's a few little places in Kensington that have some neat stuff.. Like the Judas Priest tour jacket that I wanted but was WAY too much ($300 and it was ready to fall apart).. And the costume store I mentioned in the other discussion is pretty rad.
All in all Toronto seems to be pretty sparse when it comes to reasonably priced clothes that I dig, which is disappointing seeing how huge a city it is.
Speaking of Kensington..."cough" Hot Shot shop" ahem...sorry I gotta cold! : P 181 Augusta Ave. Sale on until Dec. 23rd. And very reasonable prices...
I agree that it's hard to find affordable clothes in this city. Clothes that I like anyway...try the vintage stores or even Goodwill, Value Village, etc. You have to dig but you can find some good stuff for cheap sometimes...I found a dress from the 40s for 10 bucks this summer! : )
Anyway, it's understandable that there aren't many deals for these kinda clothes here because the scene is like what? 20 people? Compared to California...I need to move! lol : P

Bahahahaha! What? You work there or something now? If so, I'll definitely have to stop by when I have money again.
I've found that a lot of h*** in the wall costume shops have pretty sweet duds for cheap.. I got a 1950's prom dress with steel boning and shitloads of crinolin for "free" from the place my mum worked.. I took a bunch of pictures of crap the owner was trying to sell and that was my price haha.
And yeah, other than lucky breaks thrift shops are your best bet.
CTS at Queen and Spadina is pretty sweet too.

King of Kensington and Flashbacks all the way! Not only do they have great stuff for great prices, but their staff are always really friendly and help you find whatever you need (as well as things you didn't even know you needed)
I've been to all of those - I'm overdue for a Kensington market visit

Anyone go to The Fashion District? Queen and Augusta - I sell my cinchers, tutus, skirts, collars, etc there
