Hello everyone, I just wanted to take this time to share a bit about an awesome decade that most of us may look over. It was a great decade better known as the 'Swinging Sixties'. You'll be surprised to find out it's cultural effect on the world of fashion today and how easy it was to be a promiscuous little thang. Anyways, click on any of the pics below to see why the 'Swingin Sixties' will make you Randy and get that mojo goin'- XOXO Aubrey
Don't speak ill of Mary Quant. She claims to have invented the duvet cover. And were would humanity be without the duvet cover.
Speaking of Balenciaga....
Very rarely do any of Balenciaga's dresses ever come up on the market. It's not because of their rarity. Balenciaga never produced as many dresses as Dior, but there were quite a number made.
The reason Balenciaga rarely comes on the market is because women cherish them and are loathed to give up them up. As Diana Vreeland said, "Women did not have to be perfect or even beautiful to wear his clothes. His clothes made them beautiful."
So you understand. Here's an amazing Balenciaga dress. Note how it flows along the body and how it camouflages any possible body issues.
Balenciaga was one of the few designers who was also a dressmaker. You can see his skill in the above dress. The sleeves are not attached onto the dress, they are "cut in one" along with the sheath.
