Pin Up Music

Hey there ladies. I am looking to make a compilation of great pin up songs/music to use at shoots to create the mood a bit better. I am looking for suggestions for songs/bands in the pin up era or with that sound that you girls use or would like to pose too. Thanks in advance.

This is a great topic! I love so many different kinds of music from Fatboy Slim to Jurassic5 and everything inbetween. BUT the music that gets me feeling good and ready to strike a pinup pose is blues. John Lee Hooker "Boom Boom"....a lot of Muddy Waters stuff..don't know what it is but I LOVE it! Great thread... I love reading all the responses!

I play commercially available compilation albums of forties and fifties swing - it really sets the mood and the models love it.

I would definately put some Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald for more smooth, quiet shoots. Katy Perry's not so known music for some modern feel to it. And Bon Jovi to rock on! Try to search for some soundtracks, like Cabaret, Chicago and Moulin Rouge - and pick their best songs according to the "theme". Hope this helped.

I would say The Chop Tops. They're an awesome psychobilly band but they're not so psycho that it would turn someone who isnt into that off. They're just good rock n roll. Also, The Stray Cats (2 of my favorite songs - Sexy & 17 and Stray Cat Strut - great rockabilly)
