First Photoshoot!

I thought it'd be really awesome to have everyone tell about their most memorable photo-shoots!


I scheduled my very first photo shoot for Tuesday, I'm super nervous! So reading stories will definitely make me feel better and make the time fly. I can't wait to see what everyone posts :D

My 1st photo shoot was really sketchy. The only reason I went is because a few friends went and came back safely. It was free and in a guy's house. He had a closet full of yucky lingerie but I brought my own stuff. It turned out ok but I learned to be safer in the future!

Good idea! I've actually got my first shoot scheduled to start Tuesday also. So we can be anxious and nervous together! Then we can share pictures! Good luck!!

I actually won a drawing for a Boudoir photoshoot with hair and makeup provided! I had always wanted to have some pictures taken, but never gave myself the chance. I went to check out my first roller derby in June and entered the drawing while browsing through the vendors. A week later I got the call that I had won. I was so excited! I thought I had brought way too many things for the shoot. But my photographer was great and helped me figure out what too take pictures in. My hair and makeup looked great! I felt like a queen!!! It gave me the push to want to take more pictures. So I had my second photoshoot in September! I can't wait too go for another shoot next month or maybe in December!

I've got my first shoot coming up on Friday. I'm super nervous too. I find myself obsessing over everything. I've NEVER ever taken professional pictures before, but once with my husband when we got married, but it was at a drive-through chapel in Las Vegas, and not really pro.

There is a huge amount of helpful information here in PL to enable us to do well as a model. Its really cool. I also found lots of helpful info within the photographer's websites, and in videos of models, like Matsumi Max. Pinup Dollhouse is critical in helping with the daily style, and those videos are great too!

My first photoshoot was a blast! I did promotions for a restaurant called The Saddle Ranch, which practically converts into a night club once the sun goes down. A local collaborative group hosted the shoot, and there were at least a dozen other models there to keep the mood light and fun. We had a full set of makeup and hair artists, complete with a hand-full of photographers for everyone to run around with and take photos throughout the restaurant. Prior to the shoot, I was given the opportunity to go to a boutique and pick out wardrobe. It was awesome! We had tons of food served to us, complete with dessert; a 2-foot-tall mound of cotton candy and s'mores. <3
After we were done shooting, we all headed to the dance floor. Some of us even braved the mechanical bull.

It was close to Christmas time, so one of the wardrobe options we had, was Christmas related. I'm not all to happy with this shot, but it was taken that day. We were outside, and it was FREEZING!

And this one actually ended up turning into my first tear sheet.

I got lucky when it came to my first photoshoot experience, but my best advice for all of you first-timers, is to just relax and be natural. You'll do GREAT!

I have been obsessed with pinup for many years, so, naturally, when I turned 18 I scouted out every local pinup photog I could find. One photographer was doing a Bettie Page Tribute bondage shoot test run and ended up inviting me to come and see what shooting was all about. I jumped in head first, got all tied up, and got some great pictures out of it! I ended up coming back for the 'real' bondage shoot the next weekend and did it all over again with one additional model. I have shot with that photog many times since and I became very close friends with both of the girls that shot with me! One of the girls is actually the head of our burlesque revue, so through meeting her I also got into burlesque! I consider it very lucky that I was invited and went to those first 2 photoshoots, I came away with so much!

My first pro shoot was awesome. It was with Ama Lea, at the PL loft, and was so much fun! I did quite a few before that, but they were all very amateur, so I look at them more like practice then real shoots. As long as you have a good team of people, your first shoot should be amazing. Just remember to have fun!!

I have had 5 Photoshoots since beginning modeling March of this year and I would have to say that my first shoot was extremelly nerve wracking especially since it was conducted during a Pinup Workshop with many other girls, 9 to be exact! I wasn't too happy with my hair or makeup-makeup I ended up having to do myself but it was an experience. It gets easier as you shoot more and more. I have a Huge Photoshoot next Friday with a big Pinup Photographer name Roy Varga and I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that my shoot with Roy is going to be my most Memorable! When starting out out I did some shoots with some OK but not amazing photographers and my first shoot with a photographer that specializes in pin up was so much fun!
With amazing props and with a photographer who new what it was all about, I had a great time!
