AMEN! I love Cher! I personally can't wait to see it, cheesy or not. To be honest...some burlesque is MEANT to be cheesy ^_^ (some...not all...but some)

I'll go and see it, but I have little hope for it. I think it will be an entertaining movie, but not a good representation of Burlesque. I have a lot of friends in the Burlesque community who are worried about what this will do to the scene. A friend of mine that has put on shows here in the Bay for over 10 years thinks that people will see the move, and think that all burlesque shows are glamorous and high budget. We all know that the girls who do burlesque are self made. The props, costumes, sets, etc. are all pretty low budget, but that's the fun in it! We'll see if the general public can separate fact from fiction, and if they like the real thing as much as the fantasy.

I agree with Roxy.... I think it'll be a flash in the pan for the fairweather burlesque fans it creates, but only the true lifers know what ti's like. Still, very excited.
