I'm a huge fan of any clothing that is customized. From buying a dress second hand and repurposing it, to putting vintage buttons on a new cardigan, to making something from scratch, I love things that are custom.

So show off your custom stuff here. Whether you made it or it was made for you, if it's a one of a kind, let's see it!

These were made for me by my favorite seamstress Haley (fabric chosen by me):

This shirt I bought at a thrift store, added the hook and eye down the front, and added the patches (you can only see one):

This was a "hot topic halter" (you know, the "goth/industrial" ones with the tacky straps and buckles) and one of my favorite t-shirts:

I do the same thing One time, I bought two comforters for my bed, took one completely apart so I could make matching curtains for the windows.

Back to clothing... Because I'm tiny, I have a lot of things altered to fit me. Most vintage size 9 or 10 fit me like a dream, then there are those outfits I just can't turn down so I get them altered. I NEVER let them keep the scraps, I have them put it all in a bag for me to pick up with my clothing is ready for pick up.

So, I have a lot of vintage fabric scraps. I make hats, shoe clips, etc., from the scraps to make an entire ensemble.

Here's an example. With this fabulous vintage dress, I had it hemmed to perfection. With the hem scraps I made this pill box hat!

This dress I had hemmed as well and with the hem scrap, I made a custom hair flower and I also lined my lucite purse with the fabric so it'd all match...

i love the detail!

Ooh, I've got a few. Most of them I'll have to take pics of and come back later, though.
I made a post about this one on here not all too long ago.
A hideous dress from the 80's that I turned into a more Pin Up style halter.

God, I wish I had taken 'before' photos of it, but it looked a little something like this...

Alright, here's a couple more...
This skirt was originally meant to be hip-height, but I reconstructed it to be a waist-high pencil skirt.

It was originally a size 14 (I wear a size 3!) so I had a bit of downsizing to do. With some of the excess material, I made a hair flower.

I also took a "corset" from Hot Topic, and altered it a bit for burlesque purposes.

I cut the piece in half, creating a two-piece ensemble. I removed the hooks in the back of the top half and replaced them with ribbon, thus making it easier to remove on stage. You can't really see it, but I also added a ribbon to the bottom, near the booty area, so I could then attach a feather boa.

I also added the garter straps and clips to the undies myself.
It's really all about the accessories with this particular costume, but that's the basics of it. I'm doing a shoot in it in a few days, so I'll be sure to post them on my page here.
I never saw these!! they are sooo cool and very glitzy!!!! I love it!!! great job Roxy!!!!

Today I took the PL necklaces I bought and made them a little more "me". I added glitter to the red one, and attached the knucks to the black one.

I purchased a beautiful dress on ebay that I was promised had only a few minor problems. When I got it, I found the jacket to be stained badly, the lining of the jacket to be near shreds and the dress to have a h*** 5" from the hem.

One trip to the cleaner's/seamstress ($70), a tedious dye job on the jacket and a new hemline gave new life to the dress. With Audibodie modeling the dress, it is stunning.

I don't have any "before" pictures of my wedding dress (I was 16 when I bought it for later!), but it had long sleeves that were about 4" too short for me, a hideous and shredded lace/net thing that covered the chest, and it was TINY! It barely fit me when I was a teenager, much less when I got married. After I altered it I still had to starve myself for a few months and wear a corset. It was totally worth it.

I have a couple of ladies I go too for my really pretty pinup clothes that no one makes past a size XL. If any of you ladies here in Southern California know of a good seamstress I can bring business too, please let me know.
I love your concepts! Very beautiful and inspiring!!!!! Gives me that little push to move my own creativity towards something else!

Oooo love the idea of taking scraps from the dresses to make hats/flowers out of! So cute! I own so many things DIY I can't even begin. Customized stuff is THE BEST!
