I'm sure most of you have seen in the press, the gross and cruel statement Gaga decided to make at the VMA's with her meat dress.
Part of me doesn't even want to talk about it as it's another way of promoting her, wether its negative or not i guess that's what she wants and strives off.

But i found this article regarding it and thought i'd share with you guys.
The whole thing is wrong on so many levels, but i love the way this guy decided to approach it..

She explained on Ellen, "If we don't stand up for what we believe in, if we don't stand up for our rights; pretty soon we are going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones…And I'm not a piece of meat"

I'm sure the poor animal she wore for a couple of hours and then discarded, strongly believed it should be worn to the VMA's...yeah right.

Do you think chewed on, swallowed, broken down by acid, and spit out a backside is better than the VMAs? Honest question, I believe both sides of the movement have rights and wrongs.
What statement was she even trying to make by wearing flesh? Although I havent looked up her side of the story (which I should) my immediate thought is that she is using her free speech rights for shock value...
I don't eat meat, I don't 'wear' meat. The whole thing is wrong in my eyes

I had missed the point that she was making a statement until i saw the backlash afterwards. My initial thought was , mmmmm steeeeaks, then I thought to myself that it was pretty ignorant.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I love meat, i love me a damn good steak, but I still thought it was f***** up. So it's not so much that because she wore meat, eating meat and meat eaters suck or are wrong. But you'd be surprised that I thought it was wrong that she wore it when it could have been enjoyed or was just crossing a line into being ignorant. People on both sides may think it was wrong for different reasons, the world is an interesting place eh?

Meat suit = Stupid. I'm much rather eat a steak than wear it as a F*ing hat.
OK I might prejudice my opinion and your perception of it by saying I DETEST Gaga and have detested her since the beginning. I do not get the hype, I think the music is nothing special and I think she is mediocre at best. Just a walking Histrionic Personality Disorder who manages to get paid for it.

So now about my issue with the meat thing. Yes we eat meat, I eat meat, the human race in its majority eats meat. I dont like killing things, I dont like the idea of killing things but I take a somewhat Buddhist outlook on the whole thing. If the cow is dead already it should be utilized for it's intended purpose and should be honored by serving that purpose and be consumed. I once asked a Buddhist friend of my husband's if they eat meat. His response was "We are not so vain as to disrespect the sacrifice that the animal has made in giving it's life. We will consume it to honor that sacrifice".In a world where people are going hungry it is morally wrong on many counts to be this wasteful and disrespectful. I am 100% sure that meat wasn't thrown on the grill after she wore it and wasn't fed to the homeless, it was simply thrown out. Basically we can say that "Lady" gaga in essence pointlessly killed an animal and wore it's flesh as a one time disposable fashion statement. That disturbs me and makes me ill.

DO NOT GET THE HYPE of this awful "musician"
I don't eat much meat, but I do wear fur, and no matter what my feelings on the meat vs no meat issue, I think the dress was gross! Can you imagine how bad she smelled? And the stains she left on the seat? Eww, eww eww eww!
I bet she smelled lovely with all that rotting flesh on her.
Depending on whether or not the cow she's wearing came from a factory farm or free-range, that meat dress could be less cruel than wearing fur. Free-range animals actually have a natural life and are treated humanely. The same can't be said for animals killed for their fur.
I'm not defending her meat dress. It's disgusting (I can only imagine the smell!), wasteful, and just plain ridiculous. I'm just saying it's no more controversial than wearing fur.
I love Fur. And if we're being honest here, animals that are raised for their fur are treated FAR more humanly than animals used for consumption. They are usually free range, fed the best foods (to keep their fur shiny and silky) and they're raised WELL into adulthood so that they are as large as possible. It's common practice now to use the meat of furrier animals after they have been skinned. So do I feel bad about owning and wearing fur? absolutely not!

P.S. the meat suit is still grossing me out....is anyone else getting flashbacks of Wild Bill?? ((gag))

Agreed. She's def in it for shock value. A disgusting shame really, but how else would her music sell?? She's just another Marilyn Manson.
