Today I finally went into production for my little home business 'Hannalulu Hair Accessories' and I did a little research into where I should sell them. eBay was obvious and as my dad has been selling vintage items on there for years I know a little about it; however I know it's not the place to sell hair accessories and the like. Then there is Etsy, which is much better for the field I want to sell in, but the listing and sales fee seems quite high.
So, my question is which is better: Etsy or eBay? Which do you prefer as pitcher or punter?
Or do I just go it alone and have my site even though this is only a business to get a little more change in the bank account?
I use both, but I will say that I prefer Etsy, simply because items like hair accessories are easier to find. I use Ebay for big things, or odd vintage collectibles.
i say etsy... all the way!! it is definitely geared more toward the "handmade seller"... i could seriously spend hours on etsy, checking out all of the handmade jewelry and hair accessories... I love it!! so, yay for etsy!!
Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to set up an Etsy store sometime in the next week - I've nearly made all my stock for the meanwhile already because I'm so hooked on it! - and then see how it goes from there
I also found out that where I'm moving to has loads vintage fairs at boutiques so I'm hoping to have a little stall at them too
