i just picked up an amazing vintage underbust girdle this weekend am i'm hoping one of you crafty kittens can help me date it. i think it's 40s or early 50s; no zippers it's all hooks and eyes (the not pictured 4 hooks/eyes look like the industrial one above), 6 garters, thick elastic panels and thick brocade looking panels.... here's a picture.

the label says "jay thorpe 24 - 26 W. 57th Street, New York, Paris". jay thorpe was an upscale NYC department store that operated from the 1920s to the early 1970s when it closed. based on the style, any ideas?

Does it have any tags? If you post a photo of the tag, I can probably date it for you.
thanks honey, here's the only tag i could find...

there wasn't anything regarding the fabric composition, any labor union tags etc.
