Mad Men, Watch and Disscuss (spoilers within)

The new season of Mad Men started two weeks ago, and it looks pretty good so far. So who's watching??

A few things I found interesting this season:

Peggy's new boyfriend thinks she's a virgin... that's an interesting lie.

Sally has a stalker, ewwwww. That kid has always been creepy.

Don is hiring hookers?? This man could get any woman he wanted the first season, not he has to pay, sad!

Don's secretary's boyfriend called him pathetic. No one, especially not a young guy like that would have said that before.

I don't like seeing him fall like this, he was kind of a jerk, but I liked him as he was. Not like this... it's sad.

Thoughts??

Betty's back and as screwed up as ever.

I watched Sunday's episode, but was so distracted I hardly remember anything.

I do remember Sally cutter her hair, but my thought was, so what? And I certainly remember Betty slapping her, b****. Sally's hair is now the same as length Betty's, I don't see what the big deal was.

And on the subject of Pete, I think he really stepped up. It was strong arming for sure, but hey, that's how you get ahead right?

Yea I agree about Pete. My wife thought he was being an ass. To your point note how he handled Roger.

Oh yea something I forgot. On Roger not liking the Honda people. When we were kids we would beg my Grandfather to take us out for Chinese but he never would. I don't think he ate much Asian/Oriental food in the first place but my Father always said it was because of him being in World War II.

Peter and Trudy are preggo, and good for them! They've been trying for so long. I hope we get to see more of Trudy, she has such a great wardrobe. And I love seeing vintage pregnant fashions.

I'm glad Alison left, she was just a bit to emo after sleeping with Don. What did she expect, that he would marry her? Welcome to office life darling.

What does everyone think of Peggy becoming a beat? I guess it was bound to happen, but I don't like it. I have a deep dislike of the whole beat movement. The lesbian angle is an interesting one though.

My favorite quote of the night happened at the party:

Peggy: I have a boyfriend

Lesbian girl (I don't remember her name): He doesn't own your vagina

Peggy: No, but, he's renting it.

I agree Roxy. I don't like how they are portraying Don as a lesser man now that he's divorced. And I really don't like how Betty and her new man try to run the show. That's annoying. I wonder if they will ever get back together.

About Peggy, was there an episode where her and Pete talked about her having a baby? I never saw that. I wonder if he will ever see the baby, or even wants to. Seems like it will get interesting now that he is having a baby with his wife. Ok...I could go on for day. Can't wait till tomorrow night!

Ok so Don blacks out for two days? WTF ends up with 2 different women...

At first the flash backs that Roger was having kind of threw me off, i was like "what him and joan are together again" then i finally figured it out when they were at the table and won the award and it flashed back again. Kind of weird that he is having the flash backs instead of Don.

I love Peggy BTW, she is like my hero! She was just so great this episode.

I didn't understand the two day black out either. But I loved the flash backs. Joan has a very 1950s Jayne Mansfield thing going on, Hot! And seeing how Don got his start at Sterling Cooper was really neat too.

And Peggy... that girl has balls! But it does point to the fact that she is going the way of the Beats *sigh* so sad.

The stuff about Don getting the job was really cool. I hope we get more stuff like that in the future.

I was glad Peggy called that guy out he needed it.

As for Don...yeah, that was screwed up..it makes me wonder how much he had to drink to black out for TWO days..damn! I've blacked out for a night once and even that was too much and f****** scary! Poor Don..lol

Yeah the racism in this episode shocked me..I had no idea people could really feel that way about something that happened decades ago. Especially since I love Japanese culture..hell, I even went to an Asian food festival that weekend! : P

Don is pathetic!!! I really hope he snaps out of it soon. Maybe his break down at the end was a sign of that? Or it could send him spiraling... who knows. He did look much better the next day though. I do like the bonding between him and Peggy though. And I like that she is starting to realize that it's ok for her to not want what other women want.

But where the hell was Joan?? There was so not enough of her this episode.
